Top Ten Scariest Horror Movies That Could Really Happen
Alright HorrorBid's first official top 10 list! There are a lot of great horror movies out there but lets face it, some of them can be pretty far fetched. Zombie's will probably never walk the earth guys (I know, I know it sucks). But that got me thinking. What are some really great horror movies that could possibly happen on any given day. Let us know if you agree with us or if you think we're two steps away from being mentally handicap. To check out our list please click here.
Follow up:
10. Alien - The original was absolutely scary. This movie gets bonus points for scaring the hell out of me without it being overly realistic. Lots of people believe in Aliens, so it is not that far fetched. Aliens visiting earth could happen! Lotta probing going on I hear. :-)

9. The Evil Dead - Ahhhh a personal favorite of mine. This movie gave me chills from start to finish. In spite of a tiny budget, the movie still taps into our inner fears quite effectively. The scene with the trees attacking the woman is insane. As this movie is actually quite unrealistic, the good versus evil element opens it up to the reality audience. Ah who the hell am I kidding this probably ain't happening but if it does I want Campbell by my side so I listed it! :-)

8. HalloweeN- Michael Myers is the man! Plain and simple. The movie is and always will be absolutely horrifying. It is not that far from reality that this could happen right in your own hometown. Who knows there may be a psycho sitting in some hospital just waiting for the moment to go home. And while on the way why not murder a few dozen or so people. LOL! Could and probably does happen daily! :-)

7. Friday the 13th - Mother goes on a rampage because a bunch of drunk horny teens are hamming it up during summer camp while her sweet boy is taking a nap underwater. This has to be based on a true story, somewhere this has happened before. Yet another "could happen" in real life!

6. Psycho- Are you kidding me? Old or not, this was one spooky horror movie. What a brilliant movie that was light years ahead of it's time this was. Totally plausible. There could be a Norman Bates living right in your neighborhood.

5. The Shining - The madness that overwhelms Jack in this movie is something that I will never forget. It is without a doubt one of the scariest movies of all time. This practically happens when you check into the Stanley hotel where this film was shot. I say this could happen!

4. Jaws - This movie is the mother of all animal attack flicks. By far the best of the genre, it scares you as much today as it did back then. The sounds, the acting, the shark and of course, the music all play together to scare you to death. The ocean will never be the same after watching this classic horror movie. Jaws is out there, waiting for us all! Man this years vacation to the beach is going to suck. :-(

3. Saw - This movie was original, scary, and incredibly difficult to watch without being disturbed. What more can you hope for from a horror movie? Top to bottom, it is one disturbing ride. Sounds like a serial killer story that could make the headlines tomorrow! Heck it sounds like some of our members. :-)

2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)- This movie is the ultimate in scary. The grainy way in which the movie is filmed adds that element of watching a home movie from hell, and the sheer idea of what is happening on the screen is terrifying. Add to that some innovative ideas, and the ultimate villain Leatherface, and you have a horror masterpiece. Leatherface is scary just standing there. The movie claimed to be based on a true story. Truth is, it was based very loosely on the Ed Gein murders. The actual similarities in the case and the movie though are few. (Though Gein did wear the skin of his victims) It's not just possible it happened! I beat old Ed was popular in school. :-)

1. The Exorcist - It certainly can be debated whether or not this could happen in real life, but many claim that it has. That is enough to send shivers down your back while watching this movie. The horror is primitive and very effective. My vote is that the Catholic church has put out more than a few "pea soup" episodes over the years. :-)

That's it for our list, what do you guys think?

The Evil Dead... hmmm... Not so much, BUT as BooMan had put it, Good V.S The Evil help bring it to a reality and I think since the Necronomicon was involved, who the hell knows what could happen. This movie was just an artificial simulation of ones "Sam Rami", creativity and ideas alone of what might happen. So... Yes I push for that one as well.
I think all in all that was a very realistic top 10 selection of films.
As for a few other movies I can think of, I would go with this list as well :
1. The Hills Have Eyes
2. The Amityville Horror
3. Slaughter High
4. Buried Alive with Tim Matheson
5. Signs
6. The Blair Witch Project
The best of them yet being non other than Killer Klowns From Outer Space!
haha Just Kidding guys!
But yes, I love this idea of a top 10 list and I think it would be kool to keep this list going maybe once a month. Gives us a reason to really dig through the hay stack looking for new Horror's that could become a reality!
Great List Guys!
