Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger?

Now that Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as our new Freddy Krueger in the 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street remake you have to wonder what he'll look like. Will they go with the same old design they used for Englund or will he look radically different? Only time will tell however Effects Lab forum member MikeyRots gives us a taste of what could be and I have to admit, it's pretty impressive.

Please note that this is a photoshop composite/painting MikeyRots did on Jackie Earle Haley. This is a personal project of his and is in no way connected to the upcoming remake (we had to say it). What do you guys think?

I dont like it. It looks like something out of "The Hills have Eyes" remake.

That is creepy as hell; I hope that the new Freddy is that macabre looking. My only gripe with past Freddy's is his burns were not realistic-- gruesome, yes, but not realistic.

naw i have to give it a thumbs down, even if they used a mask of the original freddy i'd be happy... they cant make a sequel and completely change his look... its just NOT right

I hope the makers of the film don't go with something like this. This design, while more realistic, isn't even remotely sinister looking. It makes me feel bad for him, not scared of him.

It's amazing! I can imaging how this movie coulb be if that went with something like this. Look at how light. Blue his eyes are and the scar pattern. It's grate he looks like the mind games a nightmares he would create are almost unspeekible. I pray it won't ne the same old same old Freddy. I want to ne disturbed and actualu afraid!

What's funny is that this ended up to be pretty similar to what they actually did. It's much more realistic to an actually burn victim's scars, but I still don't find it that scary. The original Freddy makeup (and Englund's face itself) had an iconic look, authentic or not.

I saw the official trailer of the new nightmare on elm street at myspace the picture shown is the exact look of the new freddy . No their is no extra makeup added in the film. this picture shows exactly 100 percent how the new freddy looks........ also the guys voice sucks. they have actually watered down Freddy. In the trailer he is a scarred timid man running from peopel chasing him in a car. as he cowars in a warehouse on his knees telling people to go away.........

This remake sucks ! It is very cheesy looking from the trailer.........
