Will the real Don Post "H2" Michael Myers mask please stand up?

Well, our dreams have officially been shattered. We reported a few months ago about a photo of the new Rob Zombie Halloween 2 Myers mask made by Don Post and how the picture looked incredible. We knew then it was probably to good to be true but hey, we all had a glimmer of hope that possibly, just possibly the mass produced Myers market was changing before our very eyes....

Follow up:

Those hopes have now been extinguished...

The actual production copy of the mask has finally surfaced and lets just say no one is going to mistake this mask for the real deal. This was just another case of bait and switch were a copy will use a production photo and pass it off as what the mask will look like. Never telling the customer of course that it isn't actually like the picture they are showing (CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE ORIGINAL STORY). They hope you just assume that Wayne Toth the creator of the H2 movie mask is working at Don Post hand making each and everyone of these for $60 bucks.

Here is a picture of the original mask that was pre-sold through many websites as the official Rob Zombie H2 Michael Myers mask by Don Post Studios...

And here we have an actual picture of the official mask and what it will look like....

Bait and Switch... What a bunch of clowns.... The sculpture is not even close.... does it cost that much to have someone knock out something decent...

It ok...better for all the custom mask artists out there. Score one for real quality.

Proportion wise, that doesnt look too bad. Its missing a bunch of texture, and details but overall its close. The paint on that pictured proto is heavy as hell, and the white washes out some potential detail.
This would be a better buy for someone wanting a pre-fucked up and cut mask, to alter. I think I may pick up one of these to see what can be done to it, and post up any help for folks not looking to shell out $300 for a mask.

Ive shit stuff that looked better then that. My opinion, this is a pre-showing of what the movie will be like. SHITTY! Shitty movie and shitty merchandise.

i alsso might get one of these maby 2 just to mess with it. pry make one llook like the 2yrs later version. deff could use a better paint job. i looks like the first photo was photoshoped pic from the movie. because you can even see the beard coming out. but i think i could work alot of magic on this. hope other people try at it.

Well its no surprise, Don Post makes halloween masks... not collector masks... Now mind you, the 85's and 86's were great, and the limited edition myers (i think around 10 years ago ) was good... but really, when was the last time you bought a post mask because it looked awesome?

The hair looks like it is totally stretched and stitched with no slack at all. I think i will just order the rob zombie h1 mask and replicate the rips and cuts then go over it with blood red latex paint. That would look better than that cartoon looking thing!

You guys have to see this mask in person. Those pictures do no justice for it, and actutally make it look like it is some crappy mass produced mask. Actutally, this mask is a limited production run of only 2000 copies. Don Post did an awesome job on the details and coloring of the mask. Does it look 100% like the one in the movie? No, but it is damn close!! The photos of the mask on this page made me regret buying it, but seeing it in person made me happy I purchased it :)
