Writer and Director Confirmed for 'Halloween 3D'
HorrorBid reported a few weeks ago (click here) that director Patrick Lussier was in talks with the Weinstein brothers to direct the next Halloween film entitled Halloween 3D. Well we just got the confirmation earlier this evening that Lussier along with screenplay writer Todd Farmer will be bringing Michael home once again....

As they have officially signed on the dotted line. So Rob Zombie is out the window and we get the director of My Bloody Valentine 3D and the writer of classics such as Jason X. Regardless of your thoughts about Zombie's Halloween 2 you have to think the series will be going back to it's slasher roots. Will we see the same Michael Myers we saw in Zombie's vision or will this be the shape from the classic series. How will the story play out? We are told this will leave off and pick up from where H2 ended. Was H2 a dream that Laurie had? A lot will be answered or will need to be answered. Will the series continue like the original did with sequel after sequel much like the Saw franchise has done in recent years. A lot of questions and not a lot of answers. It should be interesting to see where Mr. Lussier and Famer will take us.
So the question to you is. Is this good news or bad news? We would love to hear from you.

Patrick had been in talks to direct since a week before H2 went into post-prod. That'll tell you right there that TWC had no interest in what happened with H2 because they had their own idea for H3D/H3 loooonngggggggg before H2 was even released LOL! You'd think that if you respected the story and idea that Zombie had, you'd at the VERY LEAST wait to see how it played out, no LOL?
They didn't care, didn't want him to begin with and now you're gonna see a V E R Y rushed film that is set it hit theaters in LESS than a year. Still no script, JUST signed the director, no cast, no nothing. All in an effort to erase what Zombie did with the series. Halloween used to be a well known, iconic BRAND. Now it's turning into a gimmick, nothing more. Instead of a good movie/story with good direction and pace, we'll get a bunch of cheap looking 3D gags with a subpar story written around it. Must I remind you all that Todd Farmer (...the new writter of H3D) also wrote the award winning efforts, Messengers 2 and the HIGHLY acclaimed Jason X. Yep, Jason fucking X. If you need any more proof that this film is being rushed on purpose, just re-read this post from the beginning. Go back and watch Jason X and share with me your thoughts on how that stellar film was received by fans and critics. But do your research before posting, that film was ripped a new asshole in regards to it's WRITING efforts, or lack of writing efforts I should say.

Okay this is where I have to stand up and strongly correct You thewholefknshow. I am good friends with Todd Farmer and now that it is all official I can say that Todd and Patrick have been working on a treatment for this only since August this year at the request of TWC. I asked Todd about Patrick being in talks to direct H3D since a week before H2 went into post and he laughed. They had both been, up til August, prepping a movie with Nic Cage called "Drive Angry" and had heard nothing about Halloween 3D til last month. I'm not saying that You are lying just that Your inside man is misinforming You. In an earlier post You mentioned that he told You that Halloween 3D most likely wont happen and even if it does it'll be straight to DVD. There is no way a 3D movie is going straight to DVD and this movie is definitely being shot in 3D. I just think You shouldn't trust everything your inside man is telling You as it isn't coming off as fact.

Rob Zombie's "H2" made very little sense anyway, so I don't see how a straight slasher movie with an old-school feel to it would be weird. I don't know if I'll see this in theaters, but I just don't see how it can be "worse" than this latest one. I just hope the Megan Fox rumor is just a rumor.

with zombie not making anymore halloween movies, i think most of us would say THANK GOD!!!!! he ruined michael myers for me. the first one was ok but... the second one was f@%*ing horrible. someone needs to save these movies, do i think farmer can write a good enough story, HELL NO !!!! (jason x enough said). can he he make it better than the last one? of course he can. the bar was set really low. i still can't believe dimension films let this F@#*ing movie release. dimension films should completely disregard the second movie as if were never made kinda like what marvel did with the hulk. last, rob zombie is just a dirty tree huggin hippie that needs to stick to his music career. he needs to stop remaking horror movies.

imma say it's bad fucking news. i liked John Carpenters... i liked Rob Zombies... now this fuckstick that messed up friday the 13th, is gonna see how badly he can fuck over Halloween after his first try on Friday the 13th.... i'm done. it's not about entertainment anymore. H2 didn't make alot of money, so now they try it in 3d? save 3d for hannah fucking montana.

Todd Farmer sucks azz. Jason X was a disrespect to the Friday the 13th franchise. I have to admit Rob Zombie screwed up on H2 really bad. He tried too hard to be original adn take the story elsewhere. Where was the original child who played young Micheal(Daeg Faerch)? Why all of the dream sequences, why wasn't the Sheriff's daughter utterly terrified on the evening Anniversary of her near death by the hands of Micheal in part 1? The story was bogus so Rob Zombie either needs to take us back to part 1 which was a masterpiece or out he goes. Please get a real writer with a real respect for the original Films. Trying something new to gain new fans is cool but you can't veer too far off the road that brought success to such a Horror Icon.

it's just like the original movies. like the original Halloween in 1978, the the sequel. then it went off into no mans land with the rest of them. the real storyline actually goes in this order; Halloween 1978, Halloween 2, Halloween H20, the Halloween Ressurection. i understand that not very many were fans of the last two, but the followed the original plot. Now some dude is goin' to fuck with Rob Zombie did after he made two. kinda makes you wonder if it's on purpose? like John carpenter does two, then someone else steals his franchise to make money, then Rob makes two... same thing happens. I SEE A PATTERN! haha

they need to fucking stop. Halloween in 3D? Really? I agree, I have lost all faith in the horror business anymore. it's absolutely stupid and they're ruining some great movies. Granted, the original Halloween 3 sucked, but this is rediculous to get the same motherfucker who horribly murdered the Friday 13th series to be even TOUCHING Halloween. Zombie did good on Halloween in '07, I hated H2. The last thing they need to do is make a H3D

As long as it picks up from H2, i can give a fuck. The only thing I am mad at, is the fact that is has to be another 3d film. I never get to see them in theaters, so it would suck to have to wait for video.

Really I think Michael should b tha original shape or boogeyman that made people piss themselves when you mention his name . Im 16 nd I love tha Halloween franchise except tha original Halloween 3 and Halloween 8 aka Ressurection. Michael Myers is a natural killer, not a pussy ass kid who went nuts cause he was always gettin fucked over by people . Rob Zombie really turned Michael into sumone a child can just laugh at nd say he's a clown wit a black dickies suit nd a white mask who thinks he scary. Basically Michael Myers another Chucky cause people don't fear him anymore. I couldn't help but to think H2 was Scary Movie 6 including Michael Myers. Its cool that hes comin back in 3D but bring that scary nd terrifyingly evil Michael Myers. O and please let tha man himself John Carpenter help with this project.
