A Nightmare On Elm Street Remake Trailer is Here!!!
How sweet, a fresh trailer! You've been waiting for it and now it's here! The A Nightmare in Elm Street remake trailer has hit the web and HorrorBid has it! First Leatherface then Myers followed by Jason and now Freddy. Our slashers have now all been officially reborn via the remake trend. So what are you waiting for? If you're a true Nightmare nut you've probably not even wasted your time reading this and have already click ahead to see the goods....

hmmmm.... there is like 90% of this trailer that makes me think this is going in the right direction. Its darker, its will have faithful scenes to the original...
HOWEVER there is a small voice in my head that represents that other 10%...
Im scared that they will do what FvsJ did... and what RZ H1 did... this movie might try and make us feel "bad" for the killer. Which is a horrible idea in my opnion.
The line "What do you think I did? I didnt do anything" has me thinking that Fred isnt a killer, but was set up. and decides to get revenge on the parent's kids...
I hope Im wrong. I dont want to feel bad for Fred and think that "Well he deserves to get revenge"
FvsJ tried to make Jason the "hero" by making his childhood look so bad, and really focus on Jason being "wronged"

I welcome the possible slant of Freddy being wrongly accused. It always bothered me that one of my favourite movie monsters was a child killer/molester. I know thats what Craven based his character on but its a taboo I personally cant look past.

I don't know guys, to me Robert Englund is Freddy. This isn't a silent killer hiding behind a mask. I just don't know if I'll ever be able to warm up to Freddy's new face and voice. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not that excited about this one. Also, from that last shot of Freddy's face, I'm not liking the new look at all.

Umm.... Cg augmented Freddy? I will wait to reserve judgment but.... not impressed. I always thought the greatest part of the first film was the crazy sound design. Hopefully the new one has some of that audio flavor. When we fully see the new Freddy, lets hope the look is more "iconic" than what we have seen so far.

I have my reservations, but I'm going to give this redux the old college try. Personally, I think the fact that Haley was wrongly accused presents an opportunity for a very dark revenge story, and it's the darkness that has been missing from so many of the NOES movies. I am a lot less particular about what Freddy looks like than whether or not he's cracking wise throughout the movie. Burn scars are very subjective, and there is no reason to believe that Haley would scar anything like Englund. Plus, just like with the original movies, if this thing does spawn successful sequels, maybe we'll see a nice scar progression like with Englund. I think the basic mythology of the series appears to have been left intact and we all might be a little more impressed with this than this first trailer would have us believe.

Cool, saw this at myspace earlier.
What I like about the Fred face from what we can see so far, is the voids in the burns being deeper via CG, which looks in combo with real makeup. Could be wrong about that, but I see no problem in the two mediums working successfully together.
Cant wait to see more Mr Krabs.

I think it will be a decent remake.
It reminded me a lot of Fvs.J, but then again it looks very true to the original.

FOLKS, YOUR FRED isnt dead, he's on your DVD shelf (and mine).
This is something entirely different. Outside of stating the obvious that it IS different, they are different films. The ones on your shelf will not fade out of time like "back to the future" when that happened to the pictures.

Rob Zombie doesnt ever need to make another movie in his life especially another iconic horror film. Plus Id shoot myself if he did this movie because it would have been the devils rejects take back elm st.

Ok, alot of my friends know how i feel on the entire remake bullshit on classic horror movie's. There have only been a few that have done any justice like Nosferatu 79 and well.....thats about it. lol
Anyway i am not going to get angry anymore and lose sleep like i did over the Halloween remake. No reason too. It is just not my generation anymore. I am proud that i grew up with John Carpenters Halloween and Robert Englund as Fred Krueger, Doug Bradly's Pinhead and so on. I am also glad that i have raised my kid on these classic's and the one's from hollywoods past. I let my 9 year old watch this trailer and she was very upset about Robert not playing Freddy. It was like telling her santa isn't real.
My point is that there are good ideas left in horror and horror script's. Thing's just need to change. The movie studio's right now only care about what they can throw up and recycle. Its about MONEY!! And that's it. No room for the true fan's anymore. I read yesterday that a certian company will be pushing Hellraiser, Scream 4, Scanner's, Childs Play, Halloween 3 all in 3D next year. WTF!!! They are even remaking The Crow. Wow.
Look, if you want to see an awsome horror movie or want to see Freddy in all of his awsome glory.....GO RENT THE ORIGINAL.

It was alright. I'm a little disappointed that Robert Englund isn't playing as Freddy, but that's okay, he's getting old anyways. Now, it looks good, but why remake all of the Freddy, Jason, Chucky and Michael Myers movies now? Who is playing Freddy? Sorry, wasn't good with me.

Trailer is better than most of the 'original' Nightmare series. As long as they keep Freddy from becoming a joke of himself, this series may turn out to be a winner: Look at Michael Bay's "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series to see a successful series remake. Have to wait to see.

I have to say i really like the look of it from the trailer but also was not fond of Freddy's look from the quick glimps they give or the voice. That is probably more cause of being so used to Freddy being the face and voice of Robert for all them years. I think I could deal with the face being different more so then the voice. There was just something about Robert's voice that made it so demonic. Overall though I do look forward to seeing this and hopefully it will be one of the better remakes.

I'll definitely check it out for sure. I think Jackie Earle Haley could do Krueger justice. He's no Robert Englund but I thought his performance in Watchmen was the best part of that film and he seems to be able to play a dark, gritty, sadistic character. I'll reserve judgement till I see it in April

freakin sick ass trailer the traler didn't let me down at all , ow and people stop bashing on remakes just give them a chance after all they are remaking freedy one of the most iconic horror characters of all time, its a hard job.

It seems a lot of scenes were yanked from the original.. which kinda sucks. I don't mind an homage here and there, but I hope there's enough original content to justify a remake.
Freddy Krueger's make-up does look pretty cool. I like that they're taking it back to the origin, with the parents of Elm Street burning him alive.

Sorry guys, but I'm in the same catagory of people who dislike remakes. it shows a compleate lack of talent. there are insiders that have even stepped forward and admitted that they are only remaking many of these movies becauase younger, I repeat, Younger audiences nver saw the originals. So the studios feel they can mess with these as much as they want to make them appeal to this audience. Will I watch it? On Cable, like it? Probably not. I disliked the new Friday the 13th, I did not find it scary, same with My Bloody Valentine. The Only Good thing about RZ's Halloween is we now have a better reason for Michael being a Killer .. He's freaking nuts. I'll give it a chance, but that's all.

It did seem odd to see that sweater on someone else...I'll agree with that. Englund is so closely tied into my vision of Freddy, that seeing someone else in the costume seems strange.

I have to say that I am not a fan of remakes. This one, however, does appear to have a solid basis in the original - unlike most other remakes - so I will be giving it a chance. I do have to admit, though, that the thought of anyone other than Englund portraying Freddy is repugnant to me - I feel remakes have gone to far towards making the characters "darker". half the reason Freddy was my favorite movie killer of all time was that he killed you while cracking jokes - I mean, other than Englund, who else could get away with killing somebody using a Nintendo Power Glove (Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare)?

I personally like it. He looks like a legit burn vitim which if they are going to make this a bit more real (which I assume they are even though the simple fact that he is terrozing people in their dreams makes no sense) wait a minute I am making no sense here myself. I change my thoughts, I hate this idea of a movie.

Okay, before I puddle in my pants, I need to realize that it's only the trailer; however, with that said, I've got to say that I'm mildy impressed with what this encapsulates with the history of Freddy and a new/old take on the Elm Street series and one of our favorite villains.
I liked the brief synopsis of him running from the parental lynch mob and stating, "Whatever you think I've done, I didn't do it." It gives you a different perspective on his sociopathic tendencies. The appearance of his skin does actually look like that of a real burn victim. I clicked on BooMan's link to reveal some closer pics of his face and while the overall skin tone throws me off a bit (looks dry and not greasy), I do like the aesthetic look of it as it really captures the melted lips and cartilage of what a blazing fire could do to your precious face and skin.
The voice is going to take people by surprise because we're, at least I was, still expecting that infamous Englund cackle when he speaks. It sounds a little more subdued, but menacing, yet. Ah, I'm picking apart a short trailer, but I do have to say that it's done its job in a profound way: piquing my curiosity that much higher. Everything a great trailer should invoke. I'm not even going to lie, I'm stoked!

Im kinda middle of the field, freddy looks good but its not robert englund. Im also tired of all the remakes trying to do the back story. The only movie with a back story is Friday the 13th. Which the remake of that was the worst horror movie i've seen. There was no real back story cause you are supposed to use your mind and decide for yourself what happened.
The white horse looked nice if you like horses. It was good in H2, why the hell would you want it in this movie. Stick with the jump ropeing little girls it original to the movie.
Why is it that when someone decides to do a remake of a good horror slasher movie the need the back story. its dumb and everybody has there own back story thats what makes the movie stand out for some people.

OH MY FUCKIN' GOD! Now they did a fuckin' awesome job, if i do say so myself Jackie Earle Haley makes an excellent Freddy Krueger! I'm lookin' forward to the movie coimin' out. Jackie if you're readin' this I want you to know that you are fuckin' cool, and you make an excellent Freddy Krueger.

Watched the trailer for this and i can tell you this. No one will be able to replace Robert Englund NO ONE. The video of this somewhat made me sick Freddy Kreuger was the killer hearing that quote "I didnt do anything." What are the scripters thinking when they wrote that. I will watch this film but I will tell you this if it fails i wll be back to bash this film. I respect a good horror fil when i see one. Course im a big fan of horror but im Leary on this film. And also just to throw this out there For the actor of fready Krugerf you got big shoes to fill here REALLY BIG SHOES.

I try to keep an open mind. I'm a HUGE Freddy fan and it all comes down to this...
Do I have any other so-called good horror movies to watch in the future? This one will serve it's purpose, in its own little horrific way...it is, what it is!

I think the trailer looks very promising. I like the darker feel to the film. I am just a little bit worried about Freddys new look. I have only seen a small glimpse of what his face will look like but what I have seen I am not really liking.

Omg its been a long time since i last saw "Freddy Krueger" in Freddy vs Jason i love the series and im really glad that their making this movie it looks f**kin awsome, all though robert england aint playin freddy it still looks really gud. Jackie Earle Hayley looks best for the part now this movie seems really creepy and serious i love it and i hope the series will continue. Welcome back Freddy Krueger
