Lussier Talks Halloween 3D
Most likely you've heard the news that the Weinstein Company’s (TWC) has halted HALLOWEEN 3D pre-production (was there really any to begin with?). Arrow in the Head caught up with attached director Patrick Lussier and scored an answer from the man himself. What did he say? You know you've got to read more to find out!

"All of us, Bob, Malek, Todd and myself were all on the same creative page. There was a very narrow window for us to move forward. That window closed for now. After Drive Angry, there's a chance it'll open again."
Honestly who wasn't worried about the rush job? Zombie's sequel wasn't given near the production time it deserved and many fan reactions reflected that. When they announced in August that they would be bringing Myers back to the big screen in less than a years time I couldn't help but be a little skeptical. At least now we know it won't be hurried again (if it even happens at all considering the financial trouble the Weinstein Company is in).
Is this a good thing for the Halloween franchise? Thoughts?

I'm really damn glad they chose to wait any maybe make a movie, and not some rushed piece of shit like what is usually the norm in hollyweird.
I see this act as a breath of fresh air. Normally, a year ago, no one would hesitate to do anything and cash a check before its written. Now, things are HOPEFULLY going to be about forming something, another world, spending true time on a movie.

I agree with tyler. Even though I approve of the writer and director choice, 1 year inbetween movies is too soon. Its only worked for the saw franchise thus far. But I personally blame Rob for killing the halloween franchise. The fact that he told all the fans to piss off after he released his piece of shit proves that he never cared about the franchise. The halloween frnchise didnt flop, His movie did, and it will never be on the shelf next to the REAL halloween movies. Id have busta rymes a million times over before Id have the complete cast of devils rejects.

The "halloween franchise" should have never been, it should have been part 1 and 2 and thats it. No season of the witch horseshit (should have just been called season of the which and left of the halloween "stamp of approval").
If I were RZ and I remade something that everything thought would take away from the original film, I would say fuck you to all the fans too. Because they dont get that their character in the 70's still exists on their shelf.
I wouldnt say I approve of any current writer or director, especially to the "my bloody valentine goosebumps vhs quality remake", but to anyone looking to spend time to craft their art then more power to them. I'm a fan of talent, passion, and long insane hours that make you hate the earth.

i think its a good thing to get some distance from rob zombies piece of shit, and then when they do decide to make h3d , it can be something new i dont wanna see a sequel to robs movie i wanna see the halloween franchise redeem itself from what rob did so if it takes 5 yrs so be it. i think it doesnt have to take that long id say wait till 2012 then do something fresh, that way fans will want it more and rob zombies crap wont be fresh in our minds.

sorry, but the original two films are the only ones worth anything. all i read is complaining about rob zombie this and rob zombie that. halloween 3-8 were just as bad as zombies except h20. and i'm sorry but if you think zombie's halloween 2 was worse than busta rhymes ninja kicking myers around???? how quickly we forget. halloween 3D is a STUPID idea and if you pretend zombie's didn't exists that means you pick right up after that crap resurrection movie. just let it die.

I'm sorry Kandy Kane, I personally loved "The Curse of Michael Myers". And I thought season of the witch was a good story for the Halloween series.
Zombies films were good in some parts, I did like the the psycological asspect of the film, with the dreams and delusions. But hey, we are all intitled to our own oppinions right???

Well, i'm glad they chose to wait. But, honestly, H3 had nothing to do with Michael Myers at all. So, I would think about what you going to remake...

I think its a great idea but only if it isn't a remake but an actual sequel this time. The 3D i am not going for but i personally like the idea of bringing Michael Myers back. Maybe this time we can go back to his roots and make it a suspence movie again then make michael a 6 foot guy not Tyler Mane as a 7 foot giant. Less blood and focus more on the story. The Halloween movies are my favorites and the series should not have been remade. It should have ended on H20 to me. There was no need for Resurrection. Why remake the first 2 anyway, they are the greatest horror movies ever.

i heard H2 was done like in 30 somthing days! i want to see H3D, but with a good story and a lot of brutal killing...as long as the movie isnt rushed, it should be done. Not with Rob! He always wants to put his wife in there and her role was dumb in H2! Rob made Michael Myers like Jason Vorhees WTF was he thinking!?
