Leatherface Headed for 3D?
First it was remakes and now it's 3D. Everybody wants their slice of the pie and this time they'll be using a chainsaw to do the cutting! However, a 3D face lift isn't the only thing Leatherface will receive. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise will also be getting a new home. Yep, Leatherface is packing his bags and leaving Platinum Dunes. So where is he going? Read more.
Follow up:
Variety claims that Twisted Pictures are about to score The Texas Chainsaw Massacre rights from Platinum Dunes. The idea is to start all over with another reboot (remake). I guess there's also a rumor that Twisted aims to partner with Lionsgate. So Leatherface says goodbye to Jason and Freddy and moves in with Jigsaw. Stephen Susco, who wrote the screenplay for The Grudge, is being attached to pen the project.
Seriously? Another reboot/remake already? This is getting out of hand. Should I expect another A Nightmare on Elm Street remake in Fall of 2010 also? Geez.

This is the 80's all over again, 3d everywhere. I say, unless a movie really warrants it, leave the gimmicks alone. The film companies think its fans are STUPID and feed off of that. They see 3d and a slasher, and see success. (how many of you saw my bloody valentine 3d? quite a bit)
Keep the 3d for stories and script, and not as a pure gimmick with no soul, heart or chest to back it up.
