New Fangoria Issue #289 Cover

Horror fans have been reading Fango since the late 70's and as with anything that's been around for decades you have ups and downs. Some people love Fangoria's straight to the point and gritty indie scene articles while others shy away. Whether you're a hardcore fan or not we love to show off horror "rag" covers...

Follow up:

Shipping in December is FANGORIA #289 (January 2010) featuring the uber creepy vampire movie 'Daybreakers' on the cover. (Daybreakers is due out January 8th, 2010) We expect to show off more of this film in the future as it looks like it could be the next big thing in terms of Vamp movies. This is also the first issue featuring contributing writer Stephen King with the first installment of his two-part essay (to be concluded in Fango #290).

I use to be a lifelong Fango subscriber but they have fallen off the game IMO over the past few years. The history is there its just ashame the articles aren't.

You are so right Jim! I just can't get into to Fango at all. Am I missing something? Glad to see there are others out there like me.

When I was all of six years old, I had a cool aunt who would buy me Fango from the newstand by her house and sneak it to me. She alone understood the creep I was becoming. I used to hide it and look at it the way a married guy has to look at porn, all covert-like. It was all about the pictures, baby. I couldn't tell you if the writing was any more sound back in the day because I just wanted to see monsters and grue and try to wrap my still-impressionable mind around the art and artifice of a horror movie. Sadly, with the subscription rate as ridiculous as it is, I haven't subscribed in a long time. The photography is much better now that it's all full color, but it doesn't justify a cover price of $8.99 an issue. Now I get most of my horror fixes right here on the 'bid. Some kick ass things are still free!
