Reader Review -The Fourth Kind

It irks me that this movie keeps getting compared to Paranormal Activity, and that one reviewer I read previously was equating it with "War of the Worlds". Simply because all these movies purport to be real run on the heels of that infamous broadcast....

Follow up:

The Fourth Kind was a good movie, though a bit disappointing. There wasn't all that much scare, and the constant split screening between "real" footage and reenactments was very annoying. The "real" Doctor was not convincing. Her pallor seemed unnatural, too cinematically ghoulish. And the constant suggestion that this was "real" was by far the most unnerving element. Had the transition between the "real" footage and the movie been smoother, and less (there was far too much split screening), the movie could have been a bit frightening. The tension between mother and children, and the sheriff, seemed to materialize too quickly.

But. If you can overlook any of these things, drama and scare kinda builds up. The last abduction is surely to sent several people to hide under the covers.

Special thanks to HorrorBid member CustomCritters for the review.

This was a very good film. makes the viewer think, as opposed to giving a straight forward explanation as to what you are seeing.

OK... I can't believe as a Bidite that I am going to announce this to everyone... BUT... I did no reading up on this movie prior to watching, therfor was lead on believing that EVERYTHING was true and that the split screens of the soposed real footage was real... Here's a little personal information about me: "Alien movie freak me out!!!" I thought the movie Signs was VERY FREAKY and scared the hell out of me, BUT when I watched this movie last night I was in tears in the end... I was to afriad to go piss and I almost walked away half way through the movie, but as a horror movie fan I was determined to see it through and not wuss out... That whole bit of "I am God... Father..." Did me in... That movie tramatized me so bad I had to google it and read EVERYTHING to see if by chance it was fake. Sure enough it was and then after I wiped the tears away, I began to clap in my chair. My hat is off to those guys!!!

Laugh at me all you want! I would... :P
