When I saw THE DESCENT, I left the theater feeling pretty good. I enjoyed it so much that I was nervous when I heard they were moving forward with a sequel without the original director, Neil Marshall. Still I've been eagerly anticipating the sequel hoping that they capture the spark of the first film. Well, two clips of THE DESCENT PART 2 have been released. Read more to watch.

Based on the trailer and clips it's apparent that they are going with the jump scare tactics and less with of a claustrophobic style. What I adored the original for was the unknown. Did you see something in the dark miles beneath the surface? Space wasn't the only place no one could hear you scream. As long as they do it right I can live with just gore and knee jerks scares but I'd love to feel that vibe the original captured one more time.

Plot Synopsis: Distraught, confused, and half-wild with fear, Sarah Carter emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where she encountered unspeakable terrors. Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions. As the rescue party drives deeper into uncharted caverns, nightmarish visions of the recent past begin to haunt Sarah and she starts to realize the full horror and futility of the mission. Subjected to the suspicion and mistrust of the group and confronted once more by the inbred, feral and savagely ruthless Crawlers, Sarah must draw on all her inner reserves of strength and courage in a desperate final struggle for deliverance and redemption.
