Lifesize Creature From the Black Lagoon

Didn't anyone ever teach you to respect your elders? Take note kiddies, this is all about horror roots and old skool style. The multi-talented Mark Alfrey brings to life this full sized Creature from the Black Lagoon statue prop. If you're a horror collector tell me what you wouldn't do to have this mecca displayed in your home? After the jump we've got some pics of a very satisfied customer!

Follow up:

Mark Alfrey's got some mad talent. He has 18 years experience in film, television and theatre doing all aspects of theatrical and special make-up effects. He's been employed by highly reputable industry pros including Rick Baker and Rob Bottin. Needless to say Mark's got talent oozing from his pours and thank goodness he decided to share a little bit of it with horror fans.

Replica Prop Forum member Matt (Well Paid Killer) was lucky enough to score one of these lifesize Creatures and had it finished and painted up by his buddy Chris Jones. The arms have been fiberglassed in place and he added lenses over the pupils to give it a little more pop. Matt went on to say, "Definitely the kind of piece that you don't get the full appreciation for until standing in front of it. The pics don't give the best representation of his true colors as you can see they very from pic to pic but you get the idea... This sucker stands 6'7 and is no doubt the highlight of my entire lifesize collection."

What a sec, 6'7"!?!?! Ok, this might have surpassed me wants and skipped straight to ME NEEDS!!! Ladies, if you want to buy your man that special something for the holiday season I think I just did all the work for you. You all now owe me one favor in return that I can cash in at any given notice like RIGHT NOW BAM!!!

The pics below are taken from Mark Alfrey's website. You can visit his studio's site HERE.

The other images below were taken by Matt. These pics display the incredible finishing work done by Chris Jones.

Mark and Chris, you both are mad, talented beasts. Keep up the good work fellas! And Matt, congrats on an incredible score!!! Just know that you are now the envy of tons of horror collectors at this moment.

I own a family owned tavern in a little hick town named Marietta, Pa. It's been in our family 80 years. The Creature was the first 3-D flick I ever saw. If I could buy one of these creatures I'd put it right inside the front door by the fireplace. That would make my day.

The thing is - this wont work effectively in any way. Crazy idea, EOT!
