Does Sidney Die In Scream 4 - Possible Spoilers?
SCREAM 4 scribe, Kevin Williamson, talked with the New York Post today and he possibly revealed HUGE news concerning Neve Campbell's character, Sidney Prescott. Williamson told fans months ago that he was working on a sequel to the SCREAM trilogy. David Arquette and Courtney Cox are back and Wes Craven is close to returning to the director's chair but the X factor (aka Neve) took a while to sign and this could be the reason why....

When the Post talked with Williamson about the next three "Scream" movies Kevin revealed Sidney might not survive to see the end credits.
"The thing about 'Scream 4' is that there are a lot of twists and turns, so I can't promise anything," he told PopWrap about Sidney's role in the fourth film now that Neve will return. "There are a lot of moving pieces, so we'll see -- but if you're a 'Scream' fan, I think you're really going to like it."
So let's do a little speculating just for fun. After all the jostling and deals that were finally struck to bring Campbell back on board, what better way to give the franchise the jolt it needs than to have Sidney die off in the opening scene! Much like killing off Drew Berrymore's character in the original, the death of Sydney Prescott will not only surprise audience expectations but allow the series to continue without being tied down to the original trilogy that frankly wore out its welcome. So maybe horror fans get Neve back, Scream fans can accept the story, Kevin Williamson gets to write her in and she makes an impact in the series that will hopefully allow for 2 more movies to feed off of. Will it work? Do you think Williamson was alluding to Sidney untimely demise? Time will tell but it certainty sounds plausible. What do you guys think?

Fuck it... Kill her off in the first 5 minutes of the movie... I mean... Horror films now-a-days suck ass anyway... May as well fuck this one up too...

Sidney's back story is always the major motive in the films. It all started because of her. It should all end because of her. Thats just how I feel... There's plenty of other shit they could do to involve more people and bring more than one starring role to the film besides Sidney.
Ehhhhh... I'm a huge Wes fan, but damnit if he does something this stupid... Well then I geuss it's one of the few mistakes he's made.

Speeking of other things they could do besides killing Sidney off. Each sequel contains (New Rules, More twist, EXC...) I mean this is how Randy was explaining a Trilogy in part 3 when they were watching the video tape of him. He said the killers could be Super Human or not die when you shoot them, exc exc...
Why not bring back the Original 2 killers Billy and Stew??? Maybe have the audience geussing who the killer/killers are the whole way to the end, Shock them with having REAL ghosts inside the Ghost costumes??? The ghost of Billy and Stew... OR something completely crazy like that... Isn't that how they do sequels once you get so far into the franchise, something crazy like that happens. Just look at Jason for example. In part 1 he was a little boy. In part 2 he was grown up, in part 3 he earned the hockey mask. In part 4 things were still legit. He basically looked like he did in part 3 and things still remained classic and then in Part 5 BAM. It isn't even Jason. It was Roy... Completely crazy, but the movie was still great!
Here's another example, Jaws 1 Fantastic movie. Jaws 2 Fantastic movie. Jaws 3 BAM Sea World... WTF? Completely crazy. BUT it was still a great movie... At least I think so...

Personally, I think Sidney absolutely needs to be killed off. I wouldnt do it in the opening scene and I wouldnt do it in the closing. Id kill her off smack ass in the middle of the movie. Nobody would see THAT coming.
Sidney needs to die because... after surviving 3 scenarios where all her friends die and/or try to kill her, shes got to either get killed, kill herself or get thrown in a padded room. Its a long time coming.

Well The scream movies especially the first one have always been some of my most favorite movie going experiences. They were event movies back in the day and bringing them back brings no small amount of joy to my black little heart. However, I have to say to kill Sydney, would be a ridiculously stupid move. I agree with Ryan here. She is the reason the killings started... she is central to this "universe" its almost like Batman and Joker you cant have Ghost face without Sydney... how can you even have this series without her? And if she does die they wont be able to chalk it up to some Shamalyan type twist ... that will just be good old fashioned PHENOMENALLY BAD STORY TELLING
Personally I always thought after the first movie where Billy was the killer, then the second where Billys mother was the killer that in the third film the FATHER would seek revenge ... that would have been a neat story line ... all in the family. I thought the twist with the long lost bastard brother was kinda fuckin stupid ... so perhaps Mr. Loomis will go nuts and try to find Syd.

Dont see why it was so hard to get her for this crap ... its not like shes been doing anything else for the last few years. Scream is the Mother of all the pop culture horror films I know what you did last summer, Valentine, Urban What ever and on and on and on, giving rise to the PG-13 Horror crap. Kill her in the first 5 min, then surprise the world by makeing a movie that doesnt suck, thats my challenge.

killing her off "CAN" work but not if they do it in the beginning. Look at what they did with Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween Resurrection. It was shit! After killing her off, no one really cared anymore. For it to work they need to pull a "Nancy" A La A.N.O.E.S. 3 and kill her in the end while saving the others. i personally think that it would be good to kill sydney, just to give the movies closure. don't move on to a fifth film.
i think she should die in the end face-to-face with the killer, and they should go down together, whoever this killer may be.

DO NOT KILL HER OFF! PERIOD! I will leave the theatere the minute she is killed off! I will go home and throw out my scream triple pack box! Sidney is the best Plus she is the only one that can really overpower ghostface! Also they are NOT gonna bring the ghosts of billy and stu! Critics would say its like, corny! It will get a bad review and scream 5 and 6 wont get greenlit! meaning that they wont be made! Plus 4 might not go on dvd if its that bad! I did hear that gale, dewey and martha will help her! I heard that Dewey and Gail have a 15 year old daughter in her freshman year at Woodsburo....meaning that she is a likely target for GhostFace.
Also, I do not think that Sydney should die, not at least till the last movie. People will lose interest in the movies yet to come.
I also read one of the scripts, and I have reason to believe there will be 3...count it, 3 killers. I'm not going into any details but what I gathered from the script makes it impossible for a single or 2 killers.
On another note, I hear Randy(or some form of Randy) is coming back. This means great news for all you Randy fans.

killing sidney prescott is the worst thing to do. she is SCREAM. without her, the following SCREAM movies would be pointless. it would like killing off harry potter in the harry potter film franchise. it would be like a superman movie without superman. it will not make sense to make any more scream films with its lead star dead.

There is NO WAY that Stu or Billy are going to be in this movie. Sure, Stu was breathing after the TV hit him, but the end sows cops, reporters, and what not in the house, around the house, if Stu was not there, Sid would have found out and said something to the police.
I think that there are 2 killers in this movie, but the twist is that 1 of the killers was in the 3rd one. I feel that Billy's father learned who helped his son and Stu out to kill people, as well as having his wife involved with him. He is out for revenge. He contacted Roman and they were partners. The other killer is going to be either the cousion of Sidney or Dewey. I say Dewey because after all of thses years living close with Sidney, the girl basically responsible for your little sisters dath. This will eventually hurt his relationship with Gail and they will be divorced. Gail writes another book and is mega famous again and becomes an anchorwoman for Woodsboro News.
Dewey is pissed at everything and finally ceosses paths with Billy's dad and they plan for 2 years how to kill them all once and for all. (2 years because Dewey will divorce Gail after 8 years of marriage).

killing Syd off is retarded! Also i think the "new" cast sucks and theyre selling out with them! But i think it would have been an awesome and GREAT idea if this one ENDED with the killer being Syd. As the body count rises and Syd believed that ghostface is killing everyone and still after her but in the end she realizes that SHE cracked up and she only IMAGINED ghostface trying to kill her but really SHE KILLED EVERYONE!!!! Just a cool idea but for them to kill her off especially in the first 10 minutes is murder to the franchise and will end up losing TONS of fans! Scream is probably my FAV movie of all time and i would hate it to end up "selling out"!

i see where everyone is coming from, YES her story has been told, but at the same time it hasen't. So rumor has it that in number 4 sidney is a published author, she has written about the past three terrifying years, and has managed to get on with her life thanks to her writing. I say let it be an obessive fan who is the killer. And if she HAS to die, let it be by the hands of a crazy fan, who knows everything about her.

Hey guys, I'd like to say that I have pretty much grown up watching this franchise, I love(d) it. It's one of the better in the horror genre. I think that killing off Sidney would be a bad idea, simply because I feel it would ruin the first three for many of the fans. We rooted for Sidney to make it all the way, she represented something for teenagers and women all around. If she is killed off, then it would be like 1-3 were for nothing... just for a sequel to be made years later resulting in her death after all. It was intended to be a three part story, why come out with more and ruin that? If the studio feels it MUST kill off Sidney, that would be a disappointment for me but if it is done then I feel that should end the story altogther. Not go on doing two more without Sidney... Idk, I just dont really like the idea and I don't think that the box office will hit big with 5 & 6 if she is killed off.

They cant kill off the main character Sidney and make a 5 and 6!!!!! That would be stupid just like what they did in Halloween. This is all about Sidney and if they were to kill her off then there shouldn't be a scream 5 and 6. Scream 4 would have to be the final SCREAM!!!!! They need to keep Sidney alive if they go on with more screams. Nobody can take her place she is the STAR in these films. :)

Spoiler: Sidney Prescott will not die in the 4th movie or any of the movies since she is the main character of all the movies. Dewey and Gail has a 15 year old daughter who goes to school and Sidney helps her cousin Jillian escape Ghostface in the movie. Don't worry she won't die and neither will Jillian or Dewey or Gail. And no none of those are gonna be killers since they are nice people. Dewey and the others help Sidney get through this in the movie and she helps Jillian escapes. That is what I heard on the plot. I could email the directors too if I could.

I do think one of the 3 main characters must die, like for example say scream has gale sydney and dewey up against a wall and says hes gonna shoot one of em and have him point the gun at sydney and as he fires have dewey jump in front of her and take the bullet to the heart and before he dies have him say sydney take care of gale for me......., a good idea for who the killer should be is actually that guy from the first or second movie that was origionally thought to have kiled sydneys mom but wasnt and died in the third movie, just have him somehow have survived and blame syd for his bad life and to become scream and come after her. oh and i think somehow sydneys dad should die, and in the end instead of sydney becoming crazy she should be asked to join a secret agency and then after the credits or before them have it show her holding a big gun in an awesome outfit pointing the gun at a killer trieng to kill someone and then zoom in on the trigger and have her fire and when yu hear the bullet leave the gun have the screen go black and play some awesome music!

i think its ok to kill dewey, but not gale or sydney, sydney is the main character and the whole thing would be pointless without her, and you cant kill gale because in the beginning sydney hated her and now they are saving each oother, yu cant end that kind of a thing, if you have to kill a main character just let it be dewey, i dont want him to die but its better than killin the other two, kill sydneys dad though, in the beginning to, now that would be an awesome twist in this amazing series!

Sidney will be the killer in Scream 4. She will have gone Norman bates crazy after being secluded for so many years and after all that has been going on in the past 3 films. The 2nd killer should be........Hmmmmmmmmmmmm......Randy, Syd's love slave. He will somehow survive Scream 2. Gale will be killed by Randy for being a B***H with Syd. The final showdown will be Sheriff Dewey killing off Syd and Randy,,,,Just a thought.............

sidney won't be the killer. Scream surprises us with many twists and turns but i doubt they would sell the main character out, as she is meant to be the 'innocent victim and survivor' in the films. I think maybe she will be framed and look very likely to be the killer by being at the scene of the crime after the murders, cause that will keep the audience interested and wondering, but I think some new characters will have connections with sidney that we don't know about, my bet is revenge for previous deaths. I hope they don't kill of Dewey and Gail cause they're Sidneys main friends, and if they kill them off then it's possible that Sidney will kill HERSELF (not get murdered) from the stress and misery of it all! maybe THATS the twist we're not expecting..

Ok, here's the truth. If anyone out there has seen Halloween Ressurection, then you know by killing off the main character in the beginning, THE MOVIE WILL BLOW! Thanks to busta, I laughed more than anything. So, if they do decide to kill off sydney, it definelty shouldnt be at the beginning of the movie.
Also, I could really see Gale being the killer. She'll probably "die" in this one only to reveal she survived (somehow...they could do it) and try to kill off sid in the end. Truth be told, the scream franchise is based on sid, you have to admit it. Could you imagine the halloweens without Jamie Lee Curtis. Granted most of them did have her in the movie, but she still survived and H20 would never have been made!
I'd like to see where they go with it.

like everyone said if sid dies (like in Halloween) i will laugh right in the middle of the theater throw up my large bucket of popcorn and walkout cussing, id surpizing still buy the movie(to add to my collection i used my first allowance on that thing) and never watch it. if the kill someone it better be Dewey NOT gale (my opinion she should be the killer) or sid (that would be freackin stupid)-SCRE4M better not suck.....

I think in this the final scream,the killer should be sydneys mother,i mean they found a body it was supposedly her mother,however she could of easily faked her death,how big a shock would that be to the main character(sydney) the motive for sydney's mother being a serial killer(she was allegedly sleeping around) she was sick of all the rubbish that was ruining her "Perfect Family".
However in this day and age and lets rush it out hollywood movies it will probably end up being a rubbish ending and all the originals being killed off just so that they can milk it for all its worth for the next couple of scream movies.

Well i will say this No Other Horror Movie has kept the main cast and Changed the Killers it has allways been the same killer and new meat to slice and dice I Hated Halloween to see Laurie Strood AKA Jamie Lee Curtis died off in the opening of Resurrection Halloween I walked out it was a Money grab and no back store nothing to keep me in the seat just all Hype and Not worth $12.00 for the ticket But H20 was wonderful with all the little stuff like Janet lee and the Psycho Car and other little trubits to other horror movies I would never pay to see Sydney Killed off How about it That witch dose not kill us makes us stronger no nuts like jamie lee crutis so if any one out there wants to read and take to heart it is Just cool to see the super stars like sara michell geller hell do one of the 4 hags from sex in the city getting cut up and killed or the kids from 90210 and the hills love to see lauren conrad get cut

I wish they would have made it SOMEONE from the original, Dewey, Sidney, even the undead Stu and Billy. Although i dunno prolly end up sucking anyway. The first movie was awesome, second: not so much, third: i dont seem to even remember it. I dont think i will bother watching this one unless i happen to catch it at a friends house or something.
