EXCLUSIVE: Neca's 7" Freddy Krueger Remake Figure

Following shortly behind Mezco's Freddy remake Living Dead Doll and Mez-itz comes Neca's FIRST LOOK at their 7 inch Freddy Krueger remake figure. For the first time we are finally given a clear look at what Krueger will look like in the new A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake. As you know this past year Neca acquired the license to A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET figures and looks like it's in good hands....

Follow up:

Seems NECA is releasing a burned and unburned version of Jackie Early Haley as Freddy Krueger for their 7 inch figure line up. This is the best look at Freddy's face that we've seen yet! Figures.com got the scoop so head over here to read what Neca had to say.

It's like I've said earlyer in a thread that I made. I am not one for remakes. However I think under the circumstances of Robert Englund not putting on the green and red sweater anymore, we can be thankful the results came out this well for the many other directions it could have went.

So for this Thanksgiving, as far as things Horror are concerned, I am thankful that The remake Freddy remains 99.9% true to the Original.

I can safely say I am not a fan of the new look.

I like the fact that they went in different direction from Robert's make up.
He does however resemble the character Mason Verger from Hannibal.

I wonder who is already sculpting a 1/1 bust at this moment. :-)

I don't really mind the new look, obviously it couldn't be the same. Do I like it as much as Englund's look, no. Not even close but I can really separate myself from the original look either.

The only real reaction I had from my first look was that it almost looks like a sick cat.

Im not a fan of the new look.. Although they have gone for the Real "Burn" look and they did an ok job from the looks of the figure.. As for Robert.. I dont think he was up the the 4 hours a day in makup anymore.. Can you blame him after 25 years?

my biggest problem is hes not creepy looking at all he kinda looks like a fish, they could have made him so much scarier pull up his lips and show some gum and messed up teeth, more of a charred look with some gore and wetness to make it look painful. this is just smooth and featureless nothing to seperate him from a burn unit case and thats not scary. hopefully they will keep him in the shadows the whole time so we can imangine whet he looks like.

i like it. this is what burn victims actually look like. im not a big freddy fan but maybe hes not cracking jokes all the way through the movie i can become one again. we will see.

i for one like the look. i think it does look like a real burn victim. a kid at my school looks like that, without the deformeties. but of ourse they couldnt use the same desiegn as the first like 6, because that wouldnt be a remake. that would be a sequel. i thought horror fans would stay optamistic, at least until the movie was realesed. guess i was wrong.

I actually really like the new look. It's not as scary looking as the Robert Englund Freddy but it's new and more authentic. Takes some getting used to after seeing the other Freddy for so many years but I'm just glad to have the character coming back to the big screen. It certainly beats the New Nightmare look though...

i kinda like it, im glade they went for a different direction, its not scary. and it seems freddy wont be smiling with those lips witch is a dissipointment, its scary when freddy smiles. anyways i think they couldve added more holes in bothe his cheeks like in the original movie. also i hope its not gonna be cgi, if it is, i dont know what to say. also i hope he has at least some wise cracks
, scary ones, like in the original when he cuts his fingers and laghs, or when he weres tina's face, that was very scary.
11/25/09 @ 15:25
it is realistic but we'll see how they pull it off. if they have to resort to any use of CGI im going to be pissed..because no matter what it would look like crap and unbelieveable. Hopefully it looks morelike Mason from Hannibal...

Jesus, that is a horrible design. Never cared about the remake Freddy and this certainly didn't make me gain any interest either. The Englund version is maybe not a hundred percent accurate to real burn disfigurement but at least it was creepy and menacing looking. This on the other hand just looks laughable.

I guess not to many people have seen burn victims, in real life. I remember as a kid in school, the fire department came to our school to teach us about fire safety, and he brought with him a wonderful slide show, of burn victims and I remember one of the women on the slide, being horribly burnt and the only thing I could think of was how much she resembled Freddy Krueger.

on a side note, anyone else notice the extra rivet on each knuckle of the glove in the figure pics? looks like its actually 3 seperate pieces. some of the new gloves around here lately are missing them. could be good reference pics for some of you glove builders.

If you can believe a burned child killer can comes back to life and kills in dreams....then the thought of making sure he looks like an actual burn victim is irrelevant. If you buy the concept....you should buy whatever they tell you he looks like.

Authentic...or not....I don't like it.

That... I DO agree with. He's a mystical character and exists in a world that's not bound by reality. I do prefer the original gory look but oh well. It's new. It's different. Bring it on. I'm more interested in Jackie's acting than how he looks. Maybe Robert's look mixed with his acting worked well and maybe Jackie's different take on the character will work well with his new look. We can only wait and see... but knowing how talented Jackie really is, I'm completely stoked to see what he does with this character. The 1 early review labels him as, "no nonsense, to the point, smarmy, ugly, repulsive and just plain vile." I'm looking foward to it.

Okay now this is pretty cool. I'm a little disappointed to have seen the figs prior to actually seeing the film, but I kind of expected that to happen. I might be alone on this, but I like the new look and it has me excited about the movie. Let's face it, Robert Englund isn't Freddy anymore. He probably never will be again. I spoke with him a few years ago and he told me that as much as he loves Freddy, he's getting too old to play him and he sort of wanted to pass the torch. Maybe he said that to seem gracious in the face of studio pressure to move the franchise in a new direction or maybe he meant it. Either way, If you were originally drawn to these films due to the subject matter like I was, then a new Freddy isn't too hard to grasp. At least they replaced Rob with a very talented actor. Let's face it, this franchise is populated with some pretty bad actors. Thanks for the unsolicited first look, 'Bid. I wanna get my gloved hand on one of these as soon as possible.

I believed that NECA would come out with something better as it did for freddy vs jason the 18 inch figure and jason from remake friday the 13th.Its all impressive maybe this is just its first look at it and they will make a 18 inch figure. As in the movie remake, freddy had more realistic burned features compared to the 1990's nightmare on elm street. You should see the movie remake concept trailer on youtube then you will get what i meant. This time he doesn't smile at all but only frown lawls

People quite sugar coating it. It looks like shit, not scary at all. When you look at Robert's freddy it freaks you out immediately. I'm not going to judge the movie until I see it but the make-up is very bland.

You don't mess with an iconic figure. Did they change Jason's mask in the new Friday? Did Rob change the mask for Halloween? I think it is cool they are making this film but Freddy is an iconic figure. Its like changing the face of the Colonel on the bucket of chicken!

Actually, Rob Zombie DID change the mask for the crappy re-make. It looks even worse (hard to believe) in his sequel; sort of like a ripped up terd. I hate the new Freddy look, as well as the new glove. They made him look like a damn turtle or something. Why do you have to have a guy who was burned to death, and then returns in your dreams look like an actual burn vic? NEWS FLASH: It's a fucking movie! Not reality.. I would have chosen cool and scary over accurate and lame, being as it is a horror movie and not a medical textbook. Freddy is an icon, and they changed everything about him: his glove, his face, his voice, even his sweater! (die-hard fans of the series will recall that the arms on the sweater in the original movie were solid red; no green stripes) Still, if they had to change him, the sweater is the least of my concerns. I also get that when they do a "reboot", they want to give it a fresh spin so you're not seeing the same old thing, but honestly, they changed Freddy quite a bit during the course of the Elm Street series. I didn't care an awful lot for the make-up in the original, to be honest. Part 2 looked much better, but it wasn't until number 3 (thanks to Kevin Yagher) that Freddy was given his trademark iconic look that most people think of when they think Freddy Krueger. (Ironically, Jason didn't pick up his famous hock until his 3rd F13 film) My point is this: even after that, the character continued to go through changes. He didn't look exactly the same in any 2 of the Elm Street films. Parts 3 and 4 were pretty close, but other than that, he pretty much had a different make-up design in each film, but it was still Freddy. They never went so far off the mark that he ceased to even look like the same character. But they have now. To me, this just looks like every drunken idiot who ever showed up at a costume party/contest dressed as "ghetto Freddy" ie; a decent stab at the look, but just couldn't afford (or didn't care enough) to really nail it home, if you catch my drift. They could have done much, much better at re-defining the make-up while still keeping the integrity of the classic Freddy intact. I will be boycotting this film. I've had quite enough of all this remake shit, and doing it to 'Nightmare' is simply the last straw. Also, the new "Freddy" sounds like Larry Flynt with a head cold. Sorry, not interested.

I have to say that there can only be one Freddy Krueger and that is the excellent Robert Englund.I have seen the trailer for the new movie and was not impressed at all.In the Friday the 13th and Halloween movies they wore masks but Freddy doesnt. My point is that they can replace Michael and Jason but never Freddy.

I'm sorry, but this makeup job is the wrong way to go, IMO. This isn't Freddy "I died in a fire and have to bear the injury for all eternity" Krueger, this is "I wuh in a fahr thenty yeahs ugoh anh canh dreenc frum ah straw anymoah" Krueger. Classic Freddy's burns were wet, raw, and fresh. Just the way they were when he died in the fire. This is what Freddy would have looked like if he had survived and received plastic surgery and physical rehab. He's not scarey looking, he's rather pathetic, really.

Look at it this way: You can prejudge the movie and the whole concept of remaking a NOES film and decide to hate it or you can accept the fact that Freddy has evolved as much as he has over the subsequent sequels and is simply continuing that evolution with this new entry and decide to give it a chance. It all comes down to the same thing: this movie is happening. Since you know damn well you're all going to see it eventually anyhow if you're any real fan of the franchise, why not give Jackie a fair shake? It might suck or it might be brilliant. Personally, I'd rather see a talented actor fill Rob's shoes and continue the story line then accept the fact that Freddy is no longer.

I have been a avid NOES fan since I was 4 years old. robert engulnds character was my first horror flick, Ive see every one of them over 1,000 times. when I saw that they were remaking this 5-6 years ago I was 100% in hopes that RE would be freddy again. I watched the nightmare on elm street speicals they had recently and watched the reviews from websites. when the trailer poped up I was angry. not only did they replace Rob but they didnt even give anyone fro the previous films a chance to be in this one, say all you want about other reboots or remakes they all had a person who previously played in the originals. to me rob is freddy -nuff said. he made the character we all grew to love , for 25 years he was freddy, what other horror ocon can be the villian for 25 years straight in each film? none. jason- replacement,mike-replacement.NOT freddy. if you went to horror convetions you would meet the people who played michael & jason in each film 1-10 not freddy. I got to go to the NOES reunion last summer and I was soo happy to met the people who I think paved the way for horror films.... robert is a one of a kind man. I met him, you see pics of him outside of sets and even without make up he is the face of freddy. james has BIG shoes to fill. will he be as good of a guest at convetions as Rob was to his devoted faNS...TIME WILL TELL. this remake was from the looks f it if you ever watched VH1-scream queen auditions , you know what I am talking about, the acting is not as awsome as the orignl and none of the main cast even resembles anyone. rob at least kept his cast to resemble the Orignal as possible o keep his fans happy. if anyone can agree with me on this they should have added at least someone from the originals to be in this film...right? maybe rob can play the cop dad or something. I feel they made this film too soon. it was rushed an not thought out as remakes tend to be ruhed, and maybe they should have watched each film in stead of just the original o truly understand the characters. this is my take
thanks for reading...

There are several cute boot designs available in shoe stores, a lot of which cost hundreds of dollars. However, you also have to consider that some materials used to adorn your boots, such as suede and metal embellishments, may not necessarily be able to withstand the harsh weather conditions.
10/17/10 @ 15:41
When you buy one of these, don't forget to pick other accessories that will make you look up to the latest style.

If you give them information which is substandard or that is not targeted to their needs then they will leave and go elsewhere.
