Well I could see why this ending wasn't used, it's cool to see an alternate ending but it still wasn't much better than the original ending. When michael says "die" its pretty ridiculous and when he gets shot up, his movements are super fake looking. On the positive side...atleast Laurie didn't make herself look like a bobblehead this time and Loomis actually said something before he got killed...hmm.

well, robs versions, i thought, was really cool. shit, i like them all. retun, revenge even curse, even though i can see if a "regular" person watches those movies how they would think they were lame. robs vision was brutal (which i love) it explained alot more about HIS story and he made michael a big bad motherfucker (another part that i think was cool). i saw Halloween at the theatre in 78 when i was 8 years old, so don't tell me i am not a hardcore fan because, I AM JUST THAT. IMO rob gave this story new life without bringing in rappers and lame ass stunts to get teenages to pay money to see it with thier girlfriends.
bring on all the endings that you want as long as they are brutal and bloody and make a horror movie what it should be. good job rob, keep it up.

What the fuckkkkkkkkkkk!?!?!? as the number one supporter of H2 on this site i do say my nuts just dropped when laurie got shot. this is amazing. these unhappy endings are what makes horror movies horror!

ive been a huge halloween fan for 15 years and i in no way think this is a spit in the face. i mean...everybodys pissed just because he put his own view and changed things about a tired franchise (resurrection..cmon!). he wanted to do things that audiences havent seen before and thats exactly what he did.

Well... not a big fan of that ending! I def preffer micheal NOT talking! BUT anyways, FUCK DA HATERS, zombie did a fantastic job on BOTH his Halloween films! I mean what would you rather have, a shot for shot remake of the same ol thing, or a completely NEW vision??? I pick the later!!!!!!

Dude that movie was straight up abysmal. Wtf with Michael grunting like a jackass, trading in the knife for bowie, and complete costume change... Mask off for half the movie and only stomps ass when he puts it on, then grunts with exertion while stabbing someone when he can flip a car apparently... Rob loses his cool points for the first remake.

You guys missed the whole idea of the ending. Laurie wasn't in a mental ward. She was in heaven and the angel was bringing her the pale white horse making her one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse and we all know which one rides the pale white horse..Death. EOM

Honestly the only things I cared for in this " film " was the begining hospital scene until Laurie woke up . And the violent multible stabbing with the grunting from the kills . Everything else was garbage to me and the only reason why i'm buying it is to watch the commentary to see what Rob Zombie has to say about the movie . I never understood this movie at all ....

Wow, really, comon have you guys really looked back and read what you'r saying.. it's laughable... Rob Zombies remake was by far not the worst, nor was is the greatest. He made the moveies and brought something to the Halloween franchise all his own. Look at it this way in continuity.. there are about 4 differenet "UNIVERSES/ STORY LINES" that make up the whole of this series. I don't agree on his methods of changing Loomis or the way he kept the whole "Phycic" connection but in all a great telling. The alternate ending.. again good and bad I think maybe he should have kept elements of both. So instead of flaming each other maybe you should all just agree to have a differance of opinons.. Your flaming of each ohter is what makes these sites just plan horrible to visit.

Rob did set up a reasoning in character motivation for why his last word would be for Loomis after not speaking, and it was different from the original in that Loomis was an ersatz father figure and the last to leave him like everyone else as to say my rage dies with you. Like it or not Rob did build in character motivations and as always they are people he does not want you to like.

First of all, I happenend to enjoy Zombies take on Halloween! But thats not why I'm writing this, I didn't see this movie in theaters but got the Directors Cut and was wondering besides the ending are there any differences in the movie? And will they be releasing the theatrical version? Thanks to any 1 who can help.

I like Rashid just watched the unrated DVD today with Rob Zombie's comments and he explains a lot of things, but he did not include the theatrical ending. Never saw it in theaters cause it got yanked before I could see it. Why did it not come out near Halloween instead of late summer, stupid.

I THINK.... Mike stabbed Loomis, Lori stabbed Mike, Lori put on Mikes Captain Kirk mask, and she walked out with it on. The sherrif (Brad Douriff [YAY!!!]) mouthed "Hold your fire" like you see here - Then you assume she absorbed Mikey's demon aspect and wound up in the mental hospital. The whole "Mom in a white dress with a horse" scene was very similar, if not the same (like I said, haven't seen it since, like, September???) except, I don't remember if her singing was there -- I don't think it was. And the smile was the same. (Probably her best look in the whole movie :-P
I don't think it showed Mike without his mask at the end, in the theatre version.

this is in response to jonathans comment about the mental ward....she didn't go to the mental ward. she died. i watched the movie with the director commentary on and yeah she died. that scene was in reference to an earlier scene where laurie described a dream she had to her doctor and the place she described in the dream looks like the end scene there. FYI

As a long time Halloween fan, one who has literally seen the original film somewhere in the 30-40 times range, I still don't understand all of the hate and venom spewed over Zombie's version. Michael Myers, in my mind, is absolutely the greatest horror icon in the history of cinema. With that said, I believe 2007's Halloween and H2 are a better representative of today's world than the original film. In the late 70s, early eighties, the boogeyman and the idea of evil were legitimately scary. Today, I'm not sure there is a scarier idea than that of what actual human beings are capable of doing to one another. Stripping the character of Michael of the 'shape' moniker and bringing him into the forefront as a ruthless, brutal killer relates better to the current fear of man and his actions. If you take into account that Zombie isn't doing anything with Michaels' character that comic book artists do with iconic superheroes, changing their stories to fit modern times and ideas-and you allow both of the films to stand alone-I believe you'll find two very competent and well-made films that more than capably add to the Halloween legacy.
