'House of the Devil' Collectible VHS! Wait, What?

Not only did Ti West's HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, one of our favorite flicks of '09, capture the 80's feel perfectly but dammit they hit a home run with the promotional material as well offering it in a collectible VHS version. If you have yet to see this film make sure you order a copy, you will not be sorry. One of the most underrated films of last year....

Follow up:

Yes experience the vintage House of the Devil VHS tape complete with huge Movie House style over-sized clam-shell casing! If this doesn't get you excited and nostalgic about the 80's nothing will. It is also some genius marketing on their part. Our hearts fluttered a bit when we witnessed the classic look. Order your copy below!

Synopsis: Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (Noonan and Woronov) are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creaky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. Megan (Gerwig) is Sam's best friend, who gives her a ride out to the house and reluctantly leaves her there despite suspecting that something is amiss. Victor (Bowen) at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life...

Now that's awesome! I would love to see a trend back to VHS tapes...bulky, old, & CHEAP! Plus, you can be kind when you rewind...or be rude dude if you don't.

I didn't care for the movie at all, but I still may have to pick one of these up just for the cool, retro factor. I can't even remember the last time I opened a VHS clam shell!

This a nice blog to watch the house of devil movie ,The build-up hints at something great lurking around the corner... and even pushes your wits at anticipation. And pushes it more, and more, and even more still. The only 'scares' are ridiculously unexplainable, coming in the last 5 minutes but are too cheap and too fleeting to make up for a movie that really amounts to nothing but an homage to the look (but little else) of 80s horror.…
