Looks like vamps are still on the menu with audiences and according to a tomatoe rating of 65 percent, seems most critics also approved. Box Office estimates have Daybreakers coming in at #4 on its debut weekend. This is no big surprise with steep competition like Avatar and Sherlock Holmes but did these mainstream distractions detour horror audiences from showing up? So what did you think? Unlike the sex and sparkles that litter current vampire trends with Twilight and True Blood, Daybreakers is a classic vamp movie that follows some old skool myths while also introducing the sub-genre to a completely different scenario. Set in 2019, most of the worldwide population has been vamped. However, unlike the predictable apocalypse in I Am Legend, life in Daybreakers goes on as normal except all the inhabitants now have pointed teeth, drink blood and work the graveyard shift. Oh, did I mention there's a shortage of food? So did you show up and support classic vamp with a twist or stay at home and let the Twihards rule the world?
