In what proves to be the slowest news day ever in the horror world the, "Is Wes Craven confirmed for SCREAM 4?" once again made its usual bi-monthly rounds on the web. As we reported this same "news" months ago along with countless confirmations from other credible sites Wes Craven will be directing this damn movie or we're driving to his house ringing the doorbell and dragging him to the set. The reason for the buzz is simple...

The Scream franchise is one that the studio likes to keep tight lipped about. We're not going to be hearing a lot of script leaks or plot details because after all, it's a series based in who-done-it and no one wants to spoil the reveal. With that being said Wes Craven although almost 100% confirmed hasn't been officially announced yet by The Weinstein Company. Believe us when shooting starts in April Craven will be behind the lens.

The reason for this second waive of mystery comes courtesy of a hopeful Courtney Cox-Arquette at last nights Gold Globe Award Ceremony.

At the Golden Globes MTV spoke with the Arquettes about what was going on with the franchise. David seemed pretty sure about what was happening, "Yes, Wes [Craven] is in, Neve [Campbell] is in, everyone is in."

However Coutney Cox wasn't exactly as positive as her husband was, "I know they're trying to make that work," she said, referring to bringing the "Nightmare on Elm Street" creator back on to direct. "They'll make it work," she said, quickly adding "I hope."
