Sideshow's Throne of the Slayer - Buffy Summers Maquette
I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 2, The Grudge, and The Return are some of the films that warrant Sarah Michelle Gellar's scream queen status. Still, I think we can all agree she earned the crown from her role in TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. Sideshow Collectibles gave a little holiday sneak preview during their 12 Days of Sideshow but now you can see not only all the goods but can join the wait list for this exclusive Buffy Maquette.
Follow up:
Celebrating Joss Whedon's long-running television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the Throne of the Slayer - Buffy Summers Maquette. This detailed sculpture presents an elaborately seated chosen one, awaiting her next battle with the weight of her duty as the Slayer heavy on her shoulders. Each piece is individually painted and finished to exacting standards, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. The Throne of the Slayer - Buffy Summers Maquette is an outstanding addition to any collection, a must-have for all Whedon fans.
It's obviously sold out at the moment but you can wait list for a chance to score one in 2010 3rd quarter here. It will run you about $250 but if you pre-order it from darkfigures.com you can get it for $230. The attention to detail is stunning in my opinion. I can honestly say that it does resemble Gellar quit well and would be a fantastic display piece for any vampire or Buffy fan.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a lone horror TV program for years giving us horror fans something to watch besides 90210 or Dawson's Creek (thank goodness). Unlike the sparkles of Twilight, for all the romance Buffy had equally if not more so gore, violence and horror! I honestly hated to see the show end (plus Gellar and Eliza Dushku were easy on the eyes).
