UPDATE: Kevin Greutert Legally Forced to Direct 'Saw VII 3D'
Well "game over" in our best Jigsaw voice. The nail is finally in the coffin and boy we can't imagine how great Saw VII 3D (hmmm a film in 3D? It'll never work!) is going to turn out now that they've contractually forced a director to do a film he so clearly does not want to be a part of. If only we could be a fly on the wall during production. Somehow we don't thik this will be the end of the Saw vs. Paranormal Activity fued though...
Follow up:
In a blog post from Kevin Greutert entitled "Woo hoo! Lawyers are sending me to Canada tomorrow to firect Saw VII!" he writes this:
"I just had the task of telling my 83 year old mother that no, I'm not going to be allowed to direct the movie we were all so excited about when my family last got together, and that I'm being forced to leave town before getting a chance to see her again. Yes, I'll be filming people getting tortured YET AGAIN. So we'll have to put off me making a film she can actually watch for another year."
Which leaves Paramount high and dry and without a director for Paranormal Activity 2, since they had Greutert preped and ready to direct the sequel to the highest grossing horror film of all time. Hey, we hear David Hackl's (the director that was originally slated to do Saw VII before this mess started) will be looking for a gig now...
Furthermore, will Greutert find his happiness on the seventh Saw entry, scheduled to be done in 3D? We'd hate to be on that crew.
UPDATE: Since this post Greutert has had his blog site removed from the internet entirely. Was this a move on his part or is Jigsaw sitting somewhere pulling plugs? That Jigsaw part may be a joke but stay tuned for more details on this story as we have a feeling things are only going to get more and more messy.
