Follow up:

Domestic Total Gross (no international figures and not adjusted for inflation)
-Halloween: $47,000,000
-Halloween II: $25,533,818
-Halloween III: $14,400,000
-Halloween IV: $17,768,757
-Halloween V: $11,642,254
-Halloween VI: $15,116,634
-Halloween H20: $55,041,738
-Halloween Resurrection: $30,354,442
-RZ Halloween (remake): $58,272,029
-RZ Halloween 2 (H2): $33,392,973
So looks like Rob Zombie's remake comes out on top while H5 settles at the bottom below H3 (which actually surprised us a little). I know you die hard H1 fans will scream that we need to show inflation proving that its still number one of the series so needless to say, the original Halloween still heads the charts when you adjust for inflation. Happy now?

This really shows a kind of downward slide the for the Friday the 13th series (with the exception of VS.). Funny thing is, this isn't adjust for inflation and the original still comes in 2nd LOL.
(Not Adjusted for Inflation)
-Friday the 13th: $39,754,601
-Friday the 13th Part 2: $21,722776
-Friday the 13th Part 3: $34,581,519
-The Final Chapter: $32,980,880
-A New Beginning: $21,930,418
-Jason Lives: $19,472,057
-The New Blood: $19,170,001
-Takes Manhattan: $14,343,976
-Jason Goes to Hell: $15,935,068
-Jason X: $13,121,555
-Freddy vs. Jason: 82,622,655
-Friday the 13th (remake): $65,002,019
So FvsJ is king of the mountain easily. Still, you can kind of see things going south once Part 5 comes out. Crap, that movie didn't even have Jason in it but for 3 minutes of screen time max and I can easily see people watching that and never seeing another one (no offense part 5, we love you in your own special way).
What is interesting is the drop from the original to part 2 and then it bounces back up to part 3? Part 2 was the first time Jason saw any real action and it was down by almost $20 million?!?!?!? Anybody have an explanation for that one? Now Part 3 was during the 3-D kick and that could be the cause for the rise in numbers.
And our bottom three are the most recent (excluding the remake and VS again). To Hell followed by New York and rock bottom with X. Funny that Kane Hodder is often seen as THE JASON yet all his movies as Jason, Kane has never past $20 million. I'm really shocked by this probably more than anything else.

Where there's Michael and Jason . . . Freddy is soon to follow. Below are the Domestic Box office comparison numbers (that are NOT adjusted for inflation).
-A Nightmare on Elm Street: $25,504,513
-Freddy's Revenge: $29,999,213
-Dream Warriors: $44,793,222
-Dream Master: $49,369,899
-Dream Child: $22,168,359
-Freddy's Dead: $34,872,033
-New Nightmare: $18,090,181
-Freddy vs Jason: $82,622,655
-A Nightmare on Elm Street (remake): $63,071,122
No surprise that VS. comes out on top, but I'm baffled that Dream Master came in 3rd? And then Dream Warriors 4th? Now that I've thought about it for a moment maybe I'm not that surprised. Then there's Wes Craven's New Nightmare that bottomed out. I honestly really liked New Nightmare until the last 30 minutes. Freddy's Dead was just all over the place . . . other than I like the very end. I'm assuming Warriors and Master must have been at the height of Fred's popularity. As far as the remake is concerned, I hoped for a better showing but it still came in 2nd so I can't complain too much.

Yep, were dragging this thing out and milking it for all it's worth. Still, after Michael, Freddy and Jason we can't leave out LeatherFace!
Below are the Domestic Box Office figures for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise (not adjusted for inflation of ticket prices).
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: $30,859,000
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: $8,025,872
-Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3: $5,765,562
-The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: $44,272
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake): $80,571,655
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning: $39,517,763
So looks like "The Return" almost didn't return. Wow, that's a low number. Also looks Like Mr. Hopper couldn't save part 2 (but was Dennis really that popular back then?). Part 3 comes in second to last but I have to admit, it has the best trailer of them all . . .you remember it . . .when the demonic lady in the lake throws out the chainsaw like it's Excalibur HA!
The remake actual wins out on top . . . hmmm might have to check on inflation to see who's the real winner here. Oh and I have to admit, out of all these I've never seen "The Beginning" even with its extremely hot lead played by Jordana Brewster.

Continuing on with our "SLASHER" domestic box office comparison we now look at: THE HELLRAISER FRANCHISE. Remember, these are not adjusted for ticket inflation.
-Hellraiser: $14,564,027
-Hellbound: $12,090,735
-Hell on Earth: $12,534,961
-Bloodline: $9,336,886
-Inferno: n/a
-Hellseeker: n/a
-Deader: n/a
Well, the last three installments were direct to DVD so they were just simply listed because they are a part of the franchise. I happened to watch Inferno a few months back and was disappointed. Doug Bradley (Pin Head) was in it for less than 5 minutes at the very end. I'm actually going to brave it and watch Hellseeker and Deader soon.

The last of our Domestic Box office comparison, "Child's Play" series. So far we've looked at Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hellraiser. Remember, these numbers are not adjusted for ticket price inflation.
-Child's Play: $33,244,684
-Child's Play 2: $28,501,605
-Child's Play 3: $14,960,255
-Bride of Chucky: $32,383,850
-Seed of Chucky: $17,083,732
So even not accounting for inflation, the original still comes out on top. Not really surprised but I thought Bride of Chucky might have had a chance of winning . . .only because there was a big stir about that movie when it was released. No shock with part 3 at the bottom . . . even though I thought Seed might end up there too. So, nothing too unexpected here.
