Dante’s Inferno's Super Bowl 'Go To Hell' Ad

CBS, who will be airing the Super Bowl on Sunday, has told EA that they need to edit their commercial for Dante’s Inferno, EA’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial. A 30-second spot is rumored to cost $2.5 million and EA is has invested significantly in Dante’s Inferno, which is seen to be a challenger to the God of War series, presenting an incredibly violent hack-and-slash gameplay interpretation of Dante Alighieri’s classic poem...

Follow up:

CBS found no problem with the scenes from the game that are interspersed into the clip or the incredibly dark, mature subject matter of the action-packed title. Instead, CBS took offense to the “Go To Hell” tag line used at the end of the Dante’s Inferno commercial and as a result, EA has changed the tagline to say “Hell Awaits” instead.

The full advertisement with the revised “Hell Awaits” can be seen below.

Dante’s Inferno was developed by Visceral Games, developers of 2008’s Dead Space and is being published by EA. It will be released on February 9, just two days after the Super Bowl, which is the most watched event on American television each year.

Doesnt matter. I have had this game paid off for over 12 months now ... which is a common thing for me. In any case the game looks amazing, if you have played the Demo, then you will know that "Go to Hell" or "Hell Awaits" BOTH fit rather well .... actually Im kinda leaning more towards "Hell Awaits" more so then the original tag line ... hmm thats a switch. Still, no matter how you put it, the game looks sick, the Demo was mouth dropping and I cant wait. AVP, Dante's Inferno, God of War III and Alpha Protocol ... this year is looking good to be a gamer ;)
