Universal Planning 'Jaws 3D' Remake With Tracy Morgan?

Seriously? Come on people this is a viscous rumor to draw attention right? The fine folks at Cinema Blend are reporting that according to their sources Universal Pictures is "strongly considering a remake of the 1975 Spielberg classic, JAWS in hopes of dazzling younger audiences with new (Avatar esq) special effects." Ok so far sounds plausible right? Studio cashing in on 3D technology with a remake. Ok, we buy it but Tracy Morgan as Matt Hooper? Nope!!!

Follow up:

That can't be true. It just can't. The world would stop spinning. Nuclear bombs would start firing at random and our moon would fall from orbit if that rumor was even remotely joked about in a Hollywood studio some where. God helps us all if this "source" is even in the ball park.

We understand wanting to make a movie with today's technology. We can even understand the studio wanting to capitalize on the 3D craze (after all the technology is a bit better than that was used in the 1983’s Jaws 3-D flick). But don't go making this is goof fest adding Tracy Morgan who we are sorry but is not fit to step into Richard Dreyfuss shoes.

This has to got to be a joke. Remake of a classic film, strike one, elaborate special effects to attract ignorant teenagers, strike two, Tracy Morgan in the starring role, strike three. There is no way this is serious.

First off, Jaws 3-D wasn't a "Spielberg Classic," and he'd prob sue at the intimation he had anything to do with this. It was shot here in Orlando, lots of pals in it, and it did have the distinction of having both stars of "Enemy Mine" in it. But what a bomberoo!! This sounds like someone's idea of a joke. And viscous isn't the same as vicious. Viscous means thick, drippy, slow-flowing, like the idea of remaking this seagoing turkey.

If they remake JAWS, I'll never see it. I don't care how far special fx have come, no way they could ever catch the same 'feeling' that the original has. The story, the characters, and the actors themselves, not to mention Spielberg :) made JAWS the classic that it is. A remake could never come close.

Im 4 a remake of Jaws. But I hate Tracy Morgan. That would be the bigest mistake universal could ever make. I know the character Matt Hooper was a little comedic but not as much as puting Tracy Moran in the role....Heres my main 3 cast picks...Christian Bale as Cheif Brody...Mickey Rorke as Quint...and Billy Bob Thorton as Matt Hooper..

No remake, especially if it has Tracy Morghan in it. And as much as I love 3D, I think that the original Jaws should be re-released in digital 3D instead.

Whatever, to be honest I dont care whos in it, when I go to see a Jaws film (and its been awhile hasnt it? lol), I got for the shark. I dont give two shits who else is in it, I want to see a shark eat a few swimmers, try and tank a boat, drag a dude off the boat into the deep, and then explode when some one shoots the oxygen tank in his mouth. Thats it, movie over, roll credits.

What is the deal with Tracy Morgan? I just don't understand why this jackass is so damn popular. He's the sole reason I don't watch 30 Rock . . . I love the rest of the cast, but every time Morgan's onscreen he sucks every ounce of funny out of the show and makes me want to gouge my eardrums with an icepick. Needless to say I won't be watching this remake.

No No No No No No No
sone movies should never be touched. Who cares who stars in it, this classic should never be touched. Cant they come up with anything original anymore. How about a new shark movie? One everyone would like to see. There are way to many of us who will not see a remake of Jaws. There are to many fond memories alot of us have about seeing that movie.
