Tony Todd in Night of the Living Dead: Origins
We were just talking about how the wicked, animated zombie flick A.D. was shaping up and now the fellas at Dread Central have scored an exclusive look at Tony Todd reprising his role of "Ben" in the 3D prequel, Night of The Living Dead: Origins. I'm so giddy that I'm getting the shakes! However, Tony isn't the only person reprising his role from the 1990 remake. Read more about this American Zombie Anime in 3D.

Yes it's true. Tony Todd is reprising the role of "Ben". Originally the role was thought to be filled by Hip Hop artist Mos Def but he apparently dropped out. As far as we're concerned this couldn't be better news. Todd already has experience with this role and character when he played Ben back in Tom Savini's 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Bill Moseley will also be reprising his 1990 remake role as "Johnny" and our favorite Sexy Scream Queen Danielle Harris will be lending her voice and likeness also.
Remember, this is not another remake of Night of the Living Dead, it's a prequel set in New York with some of the same characters. Director Zebediah de Soto is calling this an "American anime" in 3D. He describes this film as a "living painting" and compares it to chaos of the L.A. riots and 9/11.
My skin is crawling. With Night of the Living Dead: Origins and A.D. both going to toon town we're finally being treated to a new medium of film making. Personally, this is long over due and an area that we wish horror would explore more often. A zombie apocalypse in New York City . . . Bring it on!!!
Night of the Living Dead: Origins also stars Erin Braswell, Joe Pilato, Mike Diskint, Jesse Corti, Cornell Womac and Alona Tal. All will be seen as animated characters with self likeness and voices.
