On RottenTomatoes the film is carrying a 69% fresh rating, with most stating that the movie looks great but the story is lacking. In fact, many claim that it is far from being a Scorsese masterpiece. I thought it was enjoyable, due to the strong performances all around, but (SPOILER ALERT!!!):
i HATE when i'm watching a movie and everything turns out to be a "dream", or "in someone's head"...Rob ZOmbie pulled that his Halloween 2 hospital sequence, and it just drives me bugshit. Still, as stated; SHutter Island is worth a look for the acting performances alone. Great job there...
