Ready or not Freddy is on his way and Elm Street may never be quite the same again...

Follow up:

The Samuel Bayer directed remake stars Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, and Connie Britton and focuses on a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.

Finaly!!! it looks awesome and I only want to say one thing.
The directors said that they ASKED Robert Englund first BUT HE DODN'T WANT TO DO IT. I got so mad at all who said that they were retarded and not asking him to play the role.
I think this looks awesome and I can't wait.

I gotta say that initially I was not very happy when I heard they were remaking ANOES. But after seeing the extended trailers and now this one... I am actually quite excited cause it looks promising! I am pretty excited for this!

Im not saying that I hate everyone that dont like this remake (I agree with you, I think they should have left this alone) but get the facts before you say somthing you dont know.

For those of you how still hate the trailer and the movie I dont mind but in my opinion I think this looks good.

This looks great, but is it me or does the right side of his face look different in some spots, one like we saw first, the one where there is no holes in the cheecks, and the last one is just on huge hole, looks like he got sat on fire again or something, looks a little crispy in that image, but looks great.

just pause it at the grocery scene where he is coming down the aisle , no holes in the right cheeck, maybe editing mistake but really who cares, but that last one where hes in the closet, he does look like he got burnt again, or maybe he transformed his face to look like he did when he died, to show Nancy "Look what you really did to me kinda thing." Because those burns look fresh.

@Jon

How else did you expect the man to sound? The guy was set on fire and burned to death. I think the dude inhaled a ton of smoke and I'm sure the heat also burned his vocal chords. I think he sounds fantastic and extremely creepy!

Yeah John Knifegloves is right, even two-face in the dark knight sounded gritty after getting burned.

Gonna agree with my boy Knifegloves also. I like the voice. Yeah it sounds gritty but how should it sound. I can live with it.

Did anyone else notice when you pause at the still where Kyle Gallner is stranded outdoors in his swimming gear that you can faintly see in the background the scene from the opening of the teaser trailer, the figure of Freddy (pre-burn) being chased by the parents. You just see a set of headlights and a blurred figure running.
Anyway really enjoyed the trailer, i have no issues with his voice, really looking forward to the release.

**SPOILER**
Ultimok - Good eye. That is explained in the script we posted a week ago (that Warner Bros. asked us to take down). The Freddy Chase by the parents is a flashback/dream that Kyle Gallner experiences. He finds himself in an ocean then emerges from a pool of water to witness the origin of Freddy.

Yeah i read you guys had that up but i was too late and missed it. However i did read an interview from Gallner recently on another site about this particular scene and he stated that Freddy almost uses him as a bit of a ‘vessel’ to show what happened to him. You don’t possibly happen to have a copy of the script you could email me. :-)

I've been a fan since they announced the film. But it's good to see the haters turning the corner for the most part.

I've always been a fan of the PD remakes, and I have always loved the originals as well. From the get go this project has appealed to me, and if I had any real doubts this trailer just destroyed them. This is exactly what I've been wanting in a Nightmare film.

In all honesty the idea of Freddy for me has always been more frightening than the actual guy. It appears they are finally making him truly and deeply scary again. It will be nice to hear a new generation mentioning that their childhood trauma was Freddy Krueger...because I can relate to that.

The ONLY complaint I have is the CG on the wall bit. They really should have left it to the type of effects they used in the old version, that was highly affective. I am by no means a hater of CGI as it helps a lot sometimes, but this is a bit blatant. Sort of like the bear and deer in The Wolfman.

All in all, this just peaked my interest and made it a definite for me to be sitting in the cinema during the firts week of this. In fact I have a feeling that it won't be on DVD quick enough for my taste.

By the way, big thumbs up on making Freddy absolutely terrifying and yet a sarcastic bastard: "I haven't even cut you yet"

Up until I saw this trailer, I had mixed feelings. I'm a die-hard Freddy fan, but his last movie was Freddy vs. Jason and I was 10 and too young for my parents to take me to that. Any ways, I'm super excited to see this movie now. I wish Robert Englund was still playing Freddy, but he didn't want to do it and that's understandable. Jackie Earl Hayley looks like he'll do a decent job. Plus, one of the kids from Twilight gets slashed. =D

Big question that I would love answered is the original music score going to make it into this remake?

By the way, I'm feeling the trailer a lot. I like the voice and look.

I LOVE THE SHOT IN THE BED ROOM W/ THE DOOR OPENING---THAT'S IT

THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH LIGHT ON EVERYTHING---IT NEEDS TO BE DARKER !!!

THE CGI OF THE FACE COMING OUT OF THE WALL LOOKS LIKE CRAP--COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL ( IN CAMERA) OLD SCHOOL WAY

DAMN

I WAS MORE EXCITED BEFOR THIS TRAILER !!!!!!!

NOW I'M REAL WORRIED !!!!

OH YA

HE LOOKS LIKE A DOOFUS STANDING AT THE CHALK BOAD ( HE HAS NO CHIN !!!)

WTF !!!!!

Freddy looks sick and Im glad they seemed to have taken a more sinister route rather than stick to the wise cracking guy that Freddy became. We'll miss Robert but we've got a more than worthy guy in Haley filling those burnt shoes.

I agree with Evan! I like the sinister route the movie seems to be going.... I LOVE Robert Englund and he will always be the original Freddy but I this new guy seems like he is going to do an awesome job! (and I am usually VERY critical on remakes)

After reading the script and seeing the new trailer, I am really impressed with the micro-nap idea and can't believe they didn't touch on that in earlier films....oh yeah, they went too much towards comedy. I believe this will rank with the original and New Nightmare.....even though part 3 will always be my favorite for some odd reason.

Why is the Sweater not like the original with red sleeves ?

That is lame to have not used the original look of the sweater??????

I'm worried about this film.

Also

Freddy is too short and has no chin WTF ??????
Chandler Bullock
02/27/10 @ 10:52
@ Arri1428 You're worried for a film because he has stripes on his sleeves? Man I love how people can just not watch a single story element and focus on random bits to complain.
Arri1428

What I'm talking about with the lighting and being too lit is the over all "mood" & "atmosphere".

This film so far just seems to bubblegum, rainbow colors lighting.

Give me cool blues , whites and BLACKS with just the right amount of BLOOD RED

I hear what you are saying, but you want to find that happy middle point where it's not too light and not too dark, but keep in mind, that what you don't see---in the mind's eye will always look better than anyone can shoot. Leave a little up to the imagination.

I really love to bed room door opening shot and the Freddy's hat shot in the attic ( not on the trailers, but on the ComicCon reel) Those are dark and creepy and right on target.

Here's another good example of my point: The new Wolfman,

It's way too lit and it shows way too much of the Wolfman. I think the should have kept the Wolfman more in the shadows and not shown too much. The only really good shot in that film is when we see the claw hand up close as the victim is running up the hill to get away ( it's in the trailers). I would have much preferred to see more of that subtle bits and pieces of the Wolfman instead of all running and over the top fights scenes.

Several films recent that get it right: "Let the Right One In" , "Them" , "House of the Devil"

All three of these films never show too much and Let the Right One In has one of the most bad ass, smart, OFF CAMERA, kills that I have ever seen ( That pool sequence will rank among one of the best EVER). The House of the Devil just is creeping as hell with out showing ANYTHING for over an hour---fucking awesome. !!. "Them" everything for the most part is in the shadows and ROCKS.

That's how horror needs to be--I wish the new ANOES filmmakers could have taken a page out of those film lighting and atmosphere playbook !!!

Years ago I had the good fortune of meeting Jacques Haitkin the DOP of the original an we talked one on one for about 20 minutes before he had to fly back to LA. He was in town shooting Buried Alive 2. I worked at the airport in Wilm NC. We only talked about the lighting and the look of the film and how they wanted it to be dark literally and figuratively --that is ANOES period

I don't disagree with SOME of your points but--there have only been THREE different sweaters ( Part 1, New Nightmare, and all the rest were the same) maybe a couple miner little details in the stripes. I'm just saying there is something that really worked for the look of the original sweater---that made it creepier and you would think they leave it alone. I think the reason I NEVER liked the full stripes is because it's too Dr. Seuss / Christmas or something?.

I mean what if they changed to look of the hat in a big way--same thing really.

I WAS excited about JEH playing Freddy, hell look at the "bone structure" in his face as Rorschach---that looks spot on for a very cool Freddy shape. BECAUSE HE HAS A STRONG CHIN !!!!!!!!! and STRONG CHEEK BONES-----I don't see either in the new make up? Yet

Now--If his look, looks anywhere like the photo up at "Horror Bid"---the one that I guess is a Photoshop trick w/ the new toy---Then I'l sold, because that Photoshop photo of the toy ROCKS !!!!!!!

When the announced he was playing Freddy, I was like AWESOME !!!----and the guy is a damn good actor so we'll see.

May be he'll be so good that the "Look" becomes secondary, but that will be a tough sell--we'll see

Hey Chandler Bullock,

There is more to my worries than that--read the other posts

The Sweater is just on little bitty detail that is killing me !!!!!

Sorry I been a Fan sense opening night in November 84'

And I also FULLY SUPPORT A REMAKE--so I WILL BE MOST CRITICAL

i think its ganna be awesome, this is my favorite trailer. i hate it how people bitch about rob not being in it and the glove change. i mean, its a REMAKE it isn't ganna be the exact same thing. if rob were involved, and the glove the same, it wouldn't be a remake it would be a sequel.
