Ghostbusters 3 is easily one of our most anticipated films here at HorrorBid. Little by little news has trickled in about the original cast being joined by a crew of newbs. Sounds like a fun enough idea as long as they select the right personalities to compliment Bill Murray and the gang. Well, one personality that wants in and who is very familiar to horror is Buffy/Dollhouse mega hottie Eliza Dushku.

Eliza Dushku had us at hello. The first time we saw her on Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer we were in infatuated with her bad girl persona as Faith. The 29 year old actress has also been seen on TV's Angel, Tru Calling and the recently canceled Dollhouse. Eliza has also appeared in such films as True Lies, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Bring It On, Wrong Turn and who can forget that sexy bull ride in The New Guy? Seems Ms. Dushku is ready to take her game to a blockbuster level.

Hollywoodlife.com scored an exclusive with Eliza Dushku at Discovery's Life premiere where she talked about a hopeful involvement with Ghostbusters 3.

“I don’t know anything, I don’t have a script – it’s still a rumor thing right now. But I would be excited to do it! Dan is a friend since I was a young, and I love [original star Sigourney Weaver] and would love to zip on a proton pack!”

She is a babe and in the past has kicked some major vamp butt but does Eliza have what it takes to strap on a proton pack and bust some ghosts?

The article goes on to tell us that Dushku is longtime friends with Dan Aykroyd (which doesn't hurt her chances if that's true). This should still be treated as a rumor but IMDB does have her included on the Ghostbuster 3 cast listing as of now.

As much as some of us may want this you might recall when she showed interest in the Black Widow character for Iron Man 2 (which eventually went to Scarlett Johansson ). So I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet even though the thought of her caboose in a tight fitting Ghostbusters uniform has us all excited.

Ghostbusters 3 is slated to hit theaters in 2011.
