'A Nightmare on Elm Street' 2 Confirmed; Bayer Not Back to Direct
We reported months ago that Jackie Early Haley and a few other 'ANOES' cast members were signed on for three films completing a new Nightmare trilogy. So this isn't brand spankin news but news none-the-less. Today we hear that a sequel will indeed happen but director Samuel Bayer has no interest in directing it...
Follow up:
SlashFilm had a chance to catch up with Bayer for a little one on one.
"I really hope the film does well. I will not be involved in a sequel…I don’t want to have my next movie be a horror movie. I’m already looking at stuff and I think I’m probably going to do a– it might be an action movie, or there’s a comic book they want to make into a film I’m very attracted to. But I think I’m going to move on and let someone else handle the next one, and it’ll be great."
There you have it. A sequel (probably a threequel) will take place but without Bayer behind the camera lens. To read the entire interview please click here.

Brandon Reuth was signed to a multiple picture deal as Superman, but he'll never be the man again. And now WB has waited 4 years to basically reboot the franchise again.
I hope they go sequel quick , but your headline is a tad deceitful.
for old and new Freddy fans alike.
A good friend of mine saw an early
screening. Without spoiling anything
the new film will be more serious in
tone, Freddy is one mean, evil, pissed
dude, Jackie Earl Haley does a great
job as Freddy, the plot has quite a
few twists that may or may not surprise
everyone. To sum it up the new film
is both scary and disturbing. This
Freddy is no comedian, he is a killer.
Dont watch it alone, and uh let us all
remember whatever we do, dont fall
asleep. April 30th. Freddy Awaits...
