If You Missed It; The 2010 Oscar's Horror Tribute Segment!

So you didn't watch the Oscars last night! No worries, it's not like anything ground breaking happened anyway, right? Oh wait, the one time you didn't watch they paid homage to the very genre you love in a touching yet gruesome way. Fortunately for you, technology wins over and we have it for you to see...

Follow up:

Even though the tribute is weak, something is better than nothing. We also have a different video courtesy of YouTube this time, how long it will remain is left to be seen. Enjoy while it lasts.

UPDATE: Well we did have the footage, that is until the fine folks American Broadcasting Company (ABC) removed the video link. No worries though as we have replaced it with some random Aussie youngster talking about what happened. It's just as good, right?

And that pretty much sums everything up! :)

I am really glad they did this. Last night the artcile you guys posted made it sound like all the clips were from 80's slasher movies, and there was so much more than that. Like 1992's Bran Stocker's Dracula, and The Shining, and lots of classic horror. Infact all the movies shown are classics, and all of them are just as worthy of an Oscar as the types of movies that are usually picked. Maybe this montage is the Academy's way of acknowledging that, and maybe some horror films will have a chance of getting nominated for an Oscar in the future. And maybe if studios think there is a chance that a horror film they release could win an Oscar if there is a good enough script and good enough acting, they will be motivated to do more than remakes or Saw sequels.

"Infact all the movies shown are classics", Crap they were! Scream, Twilight, and anything slasher isnt classic. this tribute sucked and the oscars are a waste

Not sure why you would even post Charlie if you think everything is "crap". I would argue that every movie they showed was worthy enough to be in the clip. The problem is, there isn't a lot of horror Oscar movies out there. So be glad they did what they did.

Learn to read Derek . . I said not ALL the movies shown are classics. If you think Twilight is worthy to be in that clip then I feel sorry for you bub

I agree with the idea that twilight was a bad idea to have in there, for one thing the movie sucked, but also had nothing to do with horror at all. I must say though if you didn't think any of those slasher clips were classic you are dead wrong,All the Friday the 13th clips, Nightmare on elm street ext, are all classics in my book.

Well, Charile, slasher films are not my favorite genre of horror, but psople still watch films of that genre that were made 20 or more years ago. Some of which were shown in that montage. And I kind of completely ignored the Twilight stuff, I might be a chick, but I am not a horny teenage girl, so I ignore all the books and movies of that series. Bitching about Twilight only ads to it's fame. Why don't you go bitch somewhere else?

I like that Aussie kid, very good little clip. Yea I agree f*ck twilight, never seen them and don't ever care to. Them dam movies aren't nowhere close to the horror genre. I never gave a flying sh*t about the Academy Awards. Them twilight actors, they had no f*cking business introducing the horror montage. Some bullsh*t.

Seems like most everything is getting "watered down" on TV lately anyway.

I agree with you agreeing with me, but I gotta say where the hell are the clips of the George Romero dead trilogy. I mean you can't get anymore classic then that.
