New 'Fangoria' Issue #293 Cover - The Remake
Hey! If movies can be remade so can magazines. Starting in May ex Rue-Morgue writer Chris Alexander will be taking over the helm as editor in the roll that Tony Timpone made famous. The magazine is set to undergo some major changes and although we hold out hope we are not particularly impressed with the new cover issue...
Follow up:
What they choose for a cover, the DESCENT 2 is fine and will probably make a lot of fans happy to see an underdog on the front of the classic horror rag but in a time dominated by the remake of the legendary A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET reboot we question them not taking advantage of having Freddy Krueger grace the cover once again. A certain nod to past collector edition issues of Fangoria magazine, a section that seems to be overlooked for some reason these days. It seems odd to have Nightmare as a mere side story but hey, stranger things have happened.
We are behind Chris Alexander 100% and hope that he can right the ship of the once might franchise. But part of us wonders if this will turn into just another remake. Time will tell. As always stay tuned!
