Horror fans we received some great news out of camp Carpenter today. Just off the news wire and courtesy of TNW it looks as if the legendary horror director will direct "Fangland", an adaptation of the famous novel by John Marks, from 2008...

According to the article, "In the upcoming movie that is due for release in early 2011, Hilary Swank is set to star as “Evangeline Harker” a producer of a news magazine for Television, which bears striking similarities with “60 Minutes.”.
In the novel Harker is an employee of the magazine, which is called “The Hour”, and gets sent to Vampire infested Transylvania, after which she returns and things turn weird, and a whole range of mysterious things start to unfold.
For Swanks this will be a return to the genre, as well as for John Carpenter, who directed horror masterpieces like the original Halloween, The Fog, Vampires and In the mouth of madness.
Fangland will be the first horror movie in nearly ten years, that will come from the hands of the master, which is bound to make his loyal base of fans very happy!
Carpenter directed and produced many horror movies and is famous for the music he often creates himself, including the famous Halloween theme. Carpenter was also included in the famous Masters of Horror series, which featured short movies from all the directors who are considered to be a true master of horror.
