Some Big 'Fright Night' Remake News

Details are slowly emerging about the remake of the beloved cult classic "FRIGHT NIGHT". We know who will be in the director's chair, Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl,) and we also learned that Anton Yelchin is in the lead role as a horror fan who suspects his new next door neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire...

So with those nuggets of information and the promise of a great script being done by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. Today we learn courtesy of Variety that "FRIGHT NIGHT" will be set in Las Vegas, with a more badass vampire than the current sparkling kind. "He's a much more 'Jaws'-like vampire in the Amblin tradition," Noxon says. We can definitely get on board with that news!

Also according to our good friend Ryan Rotten at STYD, we just learned that the Peter Vincent character (the former actor/aging TV host) is now “a Criss Angel-type. A master showman,” which makes a lot of sense given the Vegas setting. No Chris Sarandon meta-role. Probably no Chris Sarandon at all, unless he has a cameo. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.

Sounds like it may be pretty good. I really like Farrell, he's a good actor and it'll be interesting to see what he does with this vampire role. I love the new age remakes that have been coming out. I will def go see it unless they slap a PG13 rating on it.

Also forgot to comment on Anton Yelchin, he's a very very good young actor and really talented. I like his movies and I really can't wait to see him play Charlie Brewster.
