Today we learn that the original "EVIL DEAD" (1981), the film that spawned the career of director Sam Raimi and cemented a spot in cult horror fame from the legendary Bruce Campbell, will be getting the proper Blu-ray attention it deserves.

This Hi-Def debut of Sam Raimi’s classic is coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 31st — just in time for Halloween. We also received news that the disc will feature a new Hi-Def transfer which was both supervised and (most importantly) approved by Director Sam Raimi — as well as features some new exclusive bonus content like a new Audio Commentary.
