'Fright Night' Remake Lands Leading Lady

The name Imogen Poots might not be a household name to the masses and it may sound like like a slight dirty word but in reality she's up and coming British actress who just landed the female lead in DreamWorks’ "Fright Night".

Follow up:

According to HeatVision, the actress has joined the cast that currently includes Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. So far we're liking the casting choices.

The new Fright Night will stick to the original premise of a teenager who’s convinced that his neighbor is a vampire even though no one believes him. Yelchin will star as Charley a role that was previously played by William Ragsdale and Poots will star as his girlfriend who’s part of the popular crowd at their school. She’s completely oblivious to Charley’s history as a nerd and begins to date him under false pretenses.

In the 1985 version, Charely’s girlfriend was portrayed by Amanda Bearse who was known as Marcy from the popular FOX sitcom "Married With Children". Poots, has appeared in several films during her career including, V for Vendetta, 28 Weeks Later, Me and Orson Welles, and the upcoming Centurion.

Fright Night is directed by Craig Gillespie and begins production this summer in New Mexico. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.

Well, judging by her picture and former acting history, she may just pull through for us FN fans. Looking forward to the re-maker-upper.

I'd love to see Chris Sarandon in a GOOD cameo though, wouldn't be right without it.
