Alien Prequel Beams Up 'Lost's Damon Lindelof

So did you like the hit TV series Lost? Seems Fox and Ridley Scott did. Reportedly Lost's Damon Lindelof has been meeting with Scott and company concerning a rewrite of 20th Century Fox's Alien Prequel, which the studio hopes Scott will direct. However, this could spell doom for you Alien fans. Why? Read more to find out.

Follow up:

Deadline reports, "In a development as vexing as a Lost plotline, studio insiders said that while Lindelof indeed met with Scott and the studio for that rewrite job, the exchange of ideas between them sparked a take that could well turn out to be a free-standing science fiction film." So it would seem Lindelof is reworking Jon Spaihts Alien prequel script (a script that originally got Scott re-interested in returning to the franchise).

Well crap, that just screws things up for us Alien fans doesn't it? Deadline goes on to say, "Lindelof jumped at this opportunity because Scott's 1979 space thriller Alien was such a seminal influence on him".

Another bummer coming from Deadline is Scott's busy directorial schedule on the horizon. It looks like he might not not be behind the helm of the next Alien installment after all (our hopes and dreams were just crushed). Apparently he's now attached to Gucci and The Passage.
