Tom Cruise Will Become Monster Hunter 'Van Helsing'

Or that is the hopes of the 48 year old actor. Cruise is planning on producing and staring in the film but one person is hindering the project, director Guillermo del Toro. We reported a few days ago that the director (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth) has signed on to direct At The Mountains of Madness, which is an adaptation of the HP Lovecraft tale...

Follow up:

According to NY Magazine when del Toro signed the dotted line for the new picture it meant dropping out of Cruise's Van Helsing film. The rumor of the film is not to remake the 2004 Hugh Jackman style Helsing, but to base it on the same fictional character from Bram Stoker's Dracula. Obviously Cruise has played a vamp before in Interview with a Vampire but can he fill the shoes of monster hunter Van Helsing? Time will tell as a new director is being searched for.

Well, I'm glad it's at least not a sequel to that horribly corny / nonsense Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman.
Not that I don't like Hugh Jackman, but goddamn that movie was a wreck.

I am not a Tom Cruise fan at all, but Interview with a Vampire is one of my favorite vampire movie, so let's see...
It is true though that Kirsten Dunst is much better than him in that movie.

But one must know the ruling of fashion and what is in. Picking any product bluntly will drop down the person's personality and status.

I like tom Cruise, but hinestly I thought the 2004 Van Helsing was not bad at all. There were a few cheesy parts and the music could have been better, but the werewolf and vampire tranformed figures looked pretty cool....or at least Dracula's vampire form did.

Anyways I would be looking forward to this though I still highley enjoy the other Van Helsing much more.
