Today we get a sneak peak at the new commentary by Bruce Campbell from the original "EVIL DEAD" (1981), the film that spawned the career of director Sam Raimi and cemented a spot in cult horror fame from the legendary Bruce Campbell, will be getting the proper Blu-ray attention it deserves.

This Hi-Def debut of Sam Raimi’s classic is coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 31st — just in time for Halloween. We also received news that the disc will feature a new Hi-Def transfer which was both supervised and (most importantly) approved by Director Sam Raimi — as well as features some new exclusive bonus content like a new Audio Commentary.

Below is the official artwork and details. You can already pre-order your copy via Amazon by clicking this link. We are counting down the days to finally see the original "EVIL DEAD" how it was truly meant to be seen, in glorious high-definition.

Fuck yeah, man. Gonna get that shit. ;P
Has there been any other news on the (gags a little) remake?
Or has all of that been dropped? Just curious.

I'm a huge fan of Evil dead, but I'm more than happy with my DVD. I don't think that this film was meant to be seen in high definition, or that a blue ray is going to improve this film, or any film of this kind.
I saw recently an old monster movie in Blue Ray and all the Blue Ray did was showing all the production flaws.
What I wanted to see was Ash in a new movie, maybe Army of Darkness 2, or Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash, that last one was certainly going to be the highest grossing horror movie of all time.
