Name Your Favorite FRIDAY THE 13TH Film and Win!
If you've been a member of the Bidite nation for any amount of time you know our love for contests. Today just so happens to be one of our favorite days of the year, Friday the 13th. From a youngster watching the series evolve it is truly the ultimate slasher library and this day is a day to dust off those great, sometimes overly cheesy F-13 movies and have a marathon. We hope we can help get you in the move and give some things away at the same time...

So how do you win? We always like to keep things simple and why should you have to jump through hoops on what should be a fun laid back day filled with knifing camp counselors and stalking victims with sports gear on your face. All you have to do is tell us your favorite Friday the 13th moment below. It can be what movie you like, what Jason is your favorite or why Crazy Ralph is crazy. Makes no difference. Will pick our favorite stories (there will be multiple winners).
So what do you win? Well, that is always the other part of the fun here. It could be a figure, a hockey mask, a signed autograph from the legendary Kane Hodder, an ass kicking Friday the 13th t-shirt or any number of films from the series. We are ready to blow the doors off Jason's hut in the woods so to speak. Regardless of if you win lets have some fun and share some stores. Remember it's all about Jason after all today is his birthday!

RULES: Winner will be contacted through valid e-mails left in blog comment section below. You do not have to make your e-mail address public for us to view it and contact you. We will verify entries via various IP address methods due to not logging in. Limit one (1) entry per person.

Before watching it I watched the entire series back to back. I never drank so much soda in my life !
When I finally got to JGTH I was so pumped to see what Jason was going to do next. The cover alone had me giggling like a little school girl.
BEST KILL IN SERIES: Sleeping Bag scene hands down !
I have yet to sit through any other marathons for the 'other' franchises.
Friday The 13th will always be my favorite horror movie franchise.
Jason Voorhees brought it FIRST and others followed !
Today, that kill is one of my favorites in horror history.
I'm still a major Jason fan to this day. Have every movie on DVD and/or Blu-Ray, and I even went trick or treating as Jason when I was a kid. Jason RULES!
Best movie moment would definitely be the resurrection at the beginning of Part 6.
Part 3 is right there too. I still win awards at haunted attractions by imitating Richard Brooker's walk after shooting the spear gun and then at the end. And come on, the shot of the guy from below being cut in half? AWESOME!!!!!!
Friday the 13th part 6? Yeah, um, I was 10 and that was just about the greatest thing in the world. I think that movie was designed for 10 year olds! Every kill in that is just great and I STILL have my Alice Cooper Constrictor tape just because of The Man Behind the Mask!!
This is going to sound kinda lame, but my all time favorite Friday moment is when the very first trailer for part 7 came out. We're talking WAY before internet and at 12 years old, you really didn't have access to insider movie info. I had my best friend over for the night. We were making Friday the 13th movies like we always did. (maybe one day I'll upload them) We were sitting in my play room trying to think up the next scene when it just came on the TV out of nowhere. I honestly can STILL feel the excitement rising up through my stomach. The new look was incredible and Kane looked so menacing. Honestly, we both jumped up and down on the couch exactly like Tommy Jarvis did in part 4 when he was peeping out of his window!!! Make fun of me all you want, but I would do anything to feel that excited about ANYTHING again.
Oh and Jason lives is my number 1 pic the face thew the mirror thew the side of the camper was bad as hell!!
It was like the passing of the torch from one generation of horror fans to the next. Sure, it's not Kane Hodder behind the mask and it's not exactly my favorite part (which would be 7) but it was a great moment of sharing some horror with the next breed of horror fan. At least he didn't want to watch the remake!

My favorite film has always varied. When I was younger I was really into Part 6 because I loved the Frankenstein style rebirth. This film was also lighter than the others and slightly goofy. It is easily one of the most fun of the series.
I was also a huge fan of Part 7 because it was our first glimpse at a versus style movie. The climax to this film is easily one of the best of the series.
As I got a little bit older I began to really appreciate the pre-zombie Jason of Parts 2,3 and 4. What I love about these films is they have the same feel as Halloween 1 and 2, they run together to make one long epic movie.
I like to think of Part 2 as Jason: The Rookie Years or Jason Begins. He has absolutely no style of his own at this point. Wearing overalls and a bag over his head he bears resemblance to the killer from the Town That Dreaded Sundown. He is also terribly clumsy. One time he lunges at the heroine of Part 2, Ginny, and completely misses landing behind her, not even managing to slow her down. Several times while trying to kill Ginny he fails miserably. Which brings me to one of my all time favorite scenes.
Ginny hides under a bed and the door flings open. Jason does a once over around the room while Ginny lies under the bed scared to death. When a rat scurries past her she pees all over herself and Jason is alerted to her presence because he sees the urine wash across the floor from under the bed. He then tries to be the suave Jason of later films and pretends to leave the room. Ginny thinks the coast is clear and begins to crawl out, but unbeknownst to her Jason is standing on a chair beside the bed holding a pitchfork ready to stab it through her body. She looks up at him and is terrified as she knows she is about to die, but as he begins to make his move the chair breaks, he falls to the ground and she runs away. Epic Fail.
It's nice to know that even the legendary Jason Voorhees was once a noob.
I think my all time favourite moment was in the first part where we first see Jason. That is still the scariest thing I have ever seen... period. The timing is perfect, the build up is perfect and Tom Savini does an amazing job on the make-up effects.
Fav Jason movie?
Jason takes Manhatten of course!
Why?
Its hilarious, Jason, a 7 1/2 foot tall zombie with a machete and mommy issues goes from his home in camp to fucking New York to kill some asshole teens, THATS dedication, And my favorite kil of the whole series, Jason's epic mortal Kombat head punch fatallity, Impossibly fun! Its a party movie, and Jason is the host!!!!
Happy birthday you Loveable water logged mungaloid monster, I love you!!!
BEST F-13TH MOMMENTS - Well here are my best friday the 13th momments 1st when jason jumps out of the water in part 1 i thought this scene was a verry unique and nobody expected that! another scene is probly the funiest death scenes in f-13th is the sleeping bag kills in part 5 and jason x. These two scenes were always funny to me. The last best momment is in part 5 were the guy with the axe kills the kid with the chocolate bar. this scene is Truly mest up all that over A CHOCOLATE BAR!!!!.. lol
FOVORITE JASON - Personly i like the more human look of jason such as part 1-5 more than the zombie look of jason. But my fovorite jason look is in part 4 the face sculpt looks very realistic
So those are my favorite ft-13th moments
THANKD FOR POSTING THIS CONTEST AND HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH WATCH OUT FOR JASON!!!
Well, he sat down and told me how it wasn't real and that there were camera people and other actors behind what we were seeing. That made it easier and I watched it and, viola!... no nightmares. It was at that point that I became a horror fan, for the art and fun that it truly is... and it started my love for Mr. Voorhees.
When I watched it for the first time I was arround ten years old and I remember jumping out of the sofa. It really scared me!
The best scene is when we first meet Pamela and she seems so nice at first, but with an uncomfortable feeling to it... I think he roll in this movie was epic!
All of those above moments in this movie made it so classic in the horror genre today and if it wouldn't have been for this movie we would not have the HUGE franchise we have today nor would we be celebrating this day here on Horrorbid. So I think we owe alot to this film.
*Killllllllerrrr Mommy........... Killl Her!!!* *She can't hide... No place to hide!*

Hey Ted! Where's the corkscrew?! That fancy corkscrew?!
If Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan had been given a bigger budget and more of Manhattan had been shown, then it would have been a much better film. It still has it's moments though. Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X were both good, but in the Crystal Lake Memories book it says both films had a bit of footage cut from the finished film. So maybe one day New Line will release spruced-up DVDs like Paramount are doing with the 1980 original up to Part VIII?
Soon after, Walmart had a sale where all of the Friday the 13th movies were $5. I would go once a day, buy a movie (in chronological order) go back to my dorm and watch it. After I had finished the series, I got a bunch of friends together and over two nights watched the whole series again. Ever since then, the Friday the 13th movies have become some of my favorite and most watched movies, and I have become the local Friday the 13th expert.
Favorite movie would have to be part 6. One of the bigger body count ones, has some of the best kills, and is actually pretty funny. That was the movie that revived the franchise. If part 6 flopped it would have been over for jason :(.
But the best kill has to be in the worst entry, jason goes to hell when they are having sex in the tent and "jason" cut that chick in half. Pretty badass.
Happy birthday jason!!!! ur the man
While showing it to several of my friends (They were first timers), I waited in anticipation for that final scare. My three buddies there consisted of a 250, 6'4" linebacker/bench warmer; pale white vampire fanatic/possible Twilight extra, whom I've never seen flinch; and a Metro-sexual, jumpy, obsessive texter, who up to that time hadn't taken in too many horror films.
As the jump scare came up, the texter pulled out his phone, in which as Jason came flying out of the lake, his phone went flying across the room and he let out an ear piercing, womanish shriek. The pale guy jumped back against his seat, letting out a surprised yell, and hits his head against the wall behind him. And the football player lets out a long, "aaaaaaagh!" and jumps about two feet in the air, shaking and threatening to break the couch he was sittting on.
Well to the topic for the contest, my favorite moment in Friday the 13th is when Tina battles Jason in the house that eventually blows up. It was a Saturday evening in quiet Texas and my parents had gone to a friend's party leaving me to babysit my two younger brothers. It was ten o'clock when my brothers were fast asleep and I decided to put in "Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood". Well I watched the movie with incident until the part where Tina and her guy friend are cornered by Jason in the house. I was getting into the scene when suddenly I heard the knob turning at our backdoor. Being a 14 year old kid I was fucking scared. At that point my first instinct was to go and see who it was but the house was dark so I thought it was an intruder because there was no cars out front and the house had no lights on except for the TV. I summoned enough courage and went towards the kitchen and that's when I saw a shadow in the window as if a guy was pressing his face against the window to look in the kitchen. Since it was so dark he couldn't really see me. Then suddenly the person started to bang on the door causing it to splinter. Being fearful I simply stood as this person tried to break into my home. But put of nowhere the guy couldn't get through the door because of the locks. At this time I had gotten my home phone and called my parents; I felt so scared and I told them that some guy was trying to break in, my dad got very fearful and told me that he was coming home right now and to turn on all the lights in the house and to make noise. And the whole while that damn creepy music from that scene was playing off the television. After I turned on all the lights and turned up the television the guy simply went off. My parents arrived at 11:30 and I was in tears about the whole incident. My dad saw the door and said if it wasn't for the double dead bolt that he would have gotten in; he went into the backyard and saw our gate completely forced open as well. I fell asleep in the livingroom while he talked to the police in front of the house. I live in the eastern part of my city and there was this lady who we called "candy lady", well it turns out that she was stabbed in her home right down the street from where we lived. They never caught the person who did it but I always had a feeling that some how the two incidents were linked.
Now that is why Friday the 13th VII is by far the most memorable to me and even today I cringe at the final scenes. Thank You...
My favorite scene from Part 4 is when Crispin Glover inquires, "Teddy, where's the corkscrew" and locates it when Jason stabs it into his hand. That is of course followed up with a machete to the face, and the look on his face is absolutely priceless.
My favorite Jason films have always been 6 and 7. 6 because it introduces zombie Jason and has many wicked kills. As for part 7, I always enjoyed Jason's look and Kane Hodder's performance. No matter how many times I see it, I still laugh and cheer when Jason wraps the girl in the sleeping bag and crushes her skull by smacking her into the tree.
As a kid, these movies were the highlight of my life. No joke. Even as a young adult, I can confidently say without Jason Voorhees, I would not be who I am today. I don't even think I would be the big horror fanatic I am today if it wasn't for the many memories I have of Jason and the entire Friday the 13th series.
The infamous Friday the 13th series will always be one of my greatest joys in life, and I look forward to many many more Friday the 13ths showing up on the big screen and on my annual calendar.
