'SAW' Director Makes Final Plans For Doomsday '11-11-11'

According to THR's Heat Vision blog Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of several "Saw" movies, is partnering with producer Wayne Rice to take on the 11:11 phenomenon via a horror-tinged thriller titled "11 11 11" that will land in theaters on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011...

Follow up:

If you're not familiar with the 11 11 11 hype, according to scholars the date has a substantial amount of meaning behind it by both Biblical scribes as well as more new age thinkers. Conspiracy theorists also point to the 11th date being a hot point in historical events.

"Bousman was leery of not making a movie like "The Number 23," a Jim Carrey thriller that also tackled numerology but failed to make the numbers add up at the boxoffice. But then he began noticing the number 11's prominence in his life, including his birth date (Jan. 11, 1979).

Bousman, repped by Verve and Evolution Entertainment, is in the process of writing "11 11 11," which will take on the idea of 11 gates of Heaven and how on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate will open up and something from another world will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes.

The intent is to make a movie that is not a gory like the "Saw" films but something akin to the sensibilities of "Signs" or "The Strangers."

It will be interesting to see where this film goes. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.

I came here looking for something on James Wan, after seeing "SAW director". DLB directed 2 and 3, so call him that. James directed "SAW". There IS a difference in plural words...
