Some of you may not even know his name yet. In time that will change. Each year that passes his influence grows and grows and with HATCHET II on the horizon his name is being talked about more than ever. Is this horror fan turned writer, director, producer, and yes even actor the chosen one? We think so and if you read on you'll find out why...

We've made it a point to have fun with Adam and often at Adam's expense since the birth of the site. Partially because we are fans of his work and partially because he is so willing to take time out of his schedule to chat with us. If you've read some of our past articles you will know the fascination we have with his film style. It mimics the films that we have enjoyed in the past yet with new films such as SPIRAL and FROZEN Green has opened up his bag of tricks and shown us and the world that he is so much more than a "slasher" director.

He may be more than a slasher director but damn can he direct a slasher movie. Born in 1975 Green knows the fomula of a slasher film all to well and it's these rules that he has adapted, adopted and then broken to create one of the greatest slasher films of all time, HATCHET.

Although HATCHET was a cult hit on the indie circuit it didn't get the world wide attention nor theatrical release that many felt it deserved. Was it because it was a bad movie? Obviosuly not but the world wasn't ready for an Adam Green movie. Even now the MPAA (ratings board) was up in arms at the thought of giving HATCHET II an R rating. They wanted him to cut and trim the film to fit in their box. So what did the man that has constantly been thinking outside of the box do? He bi-passed the MPAA (ratings board) and struck a deal with AMC Theaters to open the film theatrically wide as an un-rated film. In fact it's the largest showing of an un-rated film in the history of film. Will it be shown in every theater in the country? The answer is no. But it will be showing in every AMC Theater in their chain. Put it this way. You may be driving a few miles but you will be able to see HATCHET II in theaters.

So what is this article called "Adam Green Says Fuck The World?" because of this fact. Adam has been a pioneer in the world of film making and horror who refuses to take no for an answer. He reminds us of a young Sam Raimi who simply refused to not have EVIL DEAD shown on the big screen. He simply won't give up or go away. He knows he may not have made AVATAR but he also knows what he has is what his fans want. What the horror community wants.

We also included in the title that Adam Green has taken on the world and the world thanks him for it. He has stood up for his film and let it stand in the condition he wants it to be seen in. Sacraficing a bigger potential audience. Do we know it will pay off for him? Put it this way, we're not betting against Adam. Never have and never will.

Time will tell. The AMC theater project is a huge gamble and is the first time in history that this large of a "non" rated film will be released. Will it succeced? Again we have no doubt it will and if it does Adam Green will have single handedly changed the state of not just horror, or indipenedemnt films but movies in general. Proving that a board of ratings "judges" can't keep the public for seeing what the public wants to see.

Companies can plaster DVD and Blu-ray boxes with un-rated stickers until their blue in the face and no one bats an eye. You try to show that same film in a theater and people are up in arms. Gone are the days of what we should and should not be shown. Let the public make up their minds. Let us decide.

From what we know HATCHET II is a wall to wall blood bath with over 15 specially construtced gore set peieces. With the incredibly sexy Danielle Harris staring in the film and Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder) on the loose we can only imagine the carnage we will see. What's even better, what we will see is the directors vision. Not some hacked up studio version of a film that "might" have been good. Life as we know it is good. Now if the movie sucks we have Adam to blame. See we like taking jabs. It's what we do. Plus you don't own the Happy, Happy, Halloween (H3) jingle, Green! lol.

What will Adam Green tackle next? The moon? Mars? Will he take on an entire army by himself? It's Adam fucking Green, who knows! What we do know is we are behind him 110% and we know whatever he touches will turn to gold. Keep breaking barriers Adam.
