GHOSTBUSTERS 3D News - Venkman’s Love Child, Moranis is Back & Slimer in Contract Dispute?
One of the headlines to this story is false. We'll let you guess which one falls under that category. The sad thing at this point in the game who really knows what to believe? We've been reporting on the possibility of this film being made for nearly a year and a half now and nothing seems to happen except talk. Such is the case today...
Follow up:
What we know about the story thus far (or what we think we know) is the third GHOSTBUSTERS movie will revolve around a new team of young Ghostbusters who will be apprentices of the old team (Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson). Old meets young, KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL anyone?
Today, according to our friends at Bloody-Digusting we learn that writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have come up with a way to tie the new team with the old one by making Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) son Oscar the result of a love affair between Barrett and Peter Venkman (Bill Murray). In the original film we never are clear who Oscar's father is.
In the movie, Oscar will be around 21 years old or so and will be ready to fight ghosts by his fathers side. The other big bit of news coming from B-D, is that Rick Moranis is expected to come out of retirement for the film, and Sigourney Weaver are expected to return as well. Moranis has been retired from acting since 1996.
Apparently the goal is to keep the GHOSTBUSTER franchise going with the new younger team leading the way. That is of course if this movie ever gets made. With a huge emphasis on being IF. Stay tuned for more information on G-3D as we get it.
