Rob Zombie's Next Horror Film Finally Announced With Teaser Poster
Deadline just got word that Rob Zombie's next film will be titled THE LORDS OF SALEM. The story revolves around contemporary Salem where the towns people are visited by a group of 300-year old coven witches. Zombie will be penning the script as he is on tour and the film will go into production next year...
Follow up:
Those of you hoping that Rob may revisit one of his older project will have to wait. We are actually excited about this project. Rob seems to work best when he is able to give the project his full effort and vision. The film is being co-produced by Haunted Films, the company run by the Paranormal Activity team of Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Oren Peli.
Zombie said that he originally hatched the Salem premise several years ago but changed his plans we he thought he might direct a remake of THE BLOB. Zombie has a unique horror film style that we enjoy so this project definitly has our ears perked. To read the entire interview CLICK HERE.

I gotta say it's about time they locked down what he is doing. So many rumors and false starts have popped up in the last few months. I will say tho that I have yet to be dissappointed in anything Rob has done. Halloween II was his weakest but take out all the white horse crap and it was pretty good. I can't wait and I'll be there at the midnight screening whenever it comes out!

Bad fucking ass. This is awesome, can't wait to see this one. I love Rob's movies, they are amazing and Im already excited and I can't wait to see what he does with this movie. No matter what Rob does I always love it. I really pumped for this, this is gonna be a new direction and another original from Zombie. A witch movie done by Zombie this shit is gonna be creepy and a must see for horror fans and zombie fans. Im really not much on witch movies but this isn't a typical witch movie, Zombie is gonna put his own touches on it and I will hands down go see this in the theaters cuz I love all of Zombie's movies and the way he directs them, its gonna be amazing.

Could be interesting, I really dig TDR and his remake of Halloween is pretty good too so I might give this film a chance. I agree with Jim, if he would have taken out all the white horse stuff and the young mikey stuff...actually there were quite a few things I would change but thats in the past and hopefully RZ has learned from his mistakes to better his future in the movie making biz.

Saw Rob Zombie a couple of weeks ago. His show killed, it was great as was Alice Cooper who was also on the bill.
House of 1000 Corpses was a lot of fun and Devil's Rejects was a killer movie.
However....Zombie's treatment of the Halloween movies was plain awful. It was essentially Zombie's "White Trash Trilogy" if you include Corpses and Rejects.
So....I'll give Zombie a chance on the strength of his original material and the fact that I'm a fan of his music...I like the premise of the witches returning to modern Salem..it's got a little bit of Dario Argento's 3 Mothers vibe to it.
I hope he doesn't disappoint me.
