ZOMBIELAND 2 News - Will It Ever Happen?
When Sony's ZOMBIELAND flick hit theaters it was the word a mouth movie of the time. People loved the Bill Murray cameo and the zombie smashing madness that the film both showcased to the audience and poked fun at the same time. It was a fun movie to say the least and when it grossed 100 million dollars on a 23 million dollar budget plans for a sequel immediately were announced...

So where is the sequel you ask? It's a great question. Often times film will run a sequel no more than a year or two after the films release. To capitalize on the hype. When Sony announced right after the original film that they were rehiring Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the script we assumed a ZOMBIELAND 2 would be right around the corner. Unfortunately that hasn't been the case.
So is there still hope? MTV news caught up with Jesse Eisenberg who revealed that he would return for a second installment. "The movie is beloved, I didn't realize," he said. "The movie company has explained to me that there is a great interest in the movie after it came out because people really started to take to it. So that's nice. I know all the people who worked on it and if they were to put together a good sequel we would all probably be excited to do it."
When asked what he would like for his character to do in the second installment, Eisenberg replied: "I killed clown zombies in the first one. I can't imagine what other things I could do that would overshadow that."
It would seem that it's only a matter of time before ZOMBIELAND 2 gets the attention it deserves. No one wants a rushed product and hopefully they are waiting on the perfect script and a time when all the busy actors can film again. We just hope that time doesn't effect the charm the first film had on audiences and that a sequel won't be too distant that fans simple loose interest.
