PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 Kills R-Rated Midnight Box Office Record
For those of you expecting that the original PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was a one time fluke will learn different after reading this. We just got word that the sequel to the "little film that could" broke the all time R-rated midnight box office record. And it doesn't stop there...
Follow up:
Paramount’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 grossed $6.3 million from the midnight screenings, according to studio estimates. If these numbers hold up it's estimated the film will overtake the original films numbers (a film that went on to become the most profitable film of all time) for the weekend. Currently the predictions have the sequel zooming past its predecessor’s wide-release opening of $21.1 million.
This is downright amazing news if you think of the push the original film had. Will word of mouth hold up? Regardless, this is no phase. The film will undoubtedly make a slew of cash for the studio. Do we have a successor to the SAW dynasty? We have a feeling the answer is yes. Stay tuned for our in-depth review this weekend.

I only hope for the sake of my sanity that there's some form of interesting storyline this time around.
You think Paranormal Activty is scary? Why? Becaue the trailers that declared it "the best horror movie ever" told you so? Or was it the "crowd reaction" shots in the trailer?
I've yet to MEET a single person who liked the first movie. ACTUALLY liked it, not just buying into the halloween time bullshit.
A movie with zero budget and ZERO effects only works if you have a story, which these movies did NOT have a fuckin story. I cant believe people think those movies are actual movies. I've seen more convincing shit on youtube.
Fish strings, tied to doors. Seriously? Thats what keeps you up at night? Honestly?
c-grade actors struggling their lines out. Seriously? You buy into it? Once again, its because the trailers TOLD you you like it. So of course, you like it...
And most free trial FX software contains those VERY gun blasts shown in that first "movie". You call a 2 second download something scary? You honestly bought into that shit? It wasnt even roto-d in correctly. God damn people are either ignorant blind, or both.
Oh and gore, Most horror fans hate gore, and once again like Paranormal activity, most only like gore in a BIG setting, meaning at the theater or with a ton of people to glance at while watching it showing the "devil horns" proving that they're "bad ass".
Anyways, nice try on a debate.
So everyone here at Horrorbid look how Tyler "Hassle" has yet again come off like the little ignorant child he truly is..This guy does nothing but constantly disrespect those who differ in opinion..I guess he is our lord and savior in the horror world and what he say's must go or must be right..Go idoloize yourself some more in your lonely bedroom mirror buddy..Im done with you wee one
And thank you kindly to Jon and consoler3..I wasnt debating anything but mearly stating why I personally enjoyed these films..My opinion and like Jon just said, its part of the fun discussing why everyone likes or dislikes a certain topic or film..It is uncalled for to go out of your way to be an outright dick just on the grounds of someone having a different opinion..So thanks to all who can talk like adults and have a respectful conversation without converting to a dick head state for having different opinions..
So as always, Later guys..
To me they could have stopped on the first movie, but this franchise is better than a gold mine, the movies cost nothing to make and are extremely successful in the box office.
Who among you would not keep doing new PA movies if owned the franchise? It would be a stupid waste of money and we can not blame the producers if they do 20 more movies, until they stop making money. So I think that, whether you like it or not, a lot of new PA movies are going to be released.
