PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 Kills R-Rated Midnight Box Office Record

For those of you expecting that the original PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was a one time fluke will learn different after reading this. We just got word that the sequel to the "little film that could" broke the all time R-rated midnight box office record. And it doesn't stop there...

Follow up:

Paramount’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 grossed $6.3 million from the midnight screenings, according to studio estimates. If these numbers hold up it's estimated the film will overtake the original films numbers (a film that went on to become the most profitable film of all time) for the weekend. Currently the predictions have the sequel zooming past its predecessor’s wide-release opening of $21.1 million.

This is downright amazing news if you think of the push the original film had. Will word of mouth hold up? Regardless, this is no phase. The film will undoubtedly make a slew of cash for the studio. Do we have a successor to the SAW dynasty? We have a feeling the answer is yes. Stay tuned for our in-depth review this weekend.

Please for the love of all that is unholy don't let this become a yearly thing. I can't see what the difference is between this one and the first one! Chatter sandwiched in-between night vision shots of people getting dragged around and creepy noise certain to jump scare anyone with hearing.

I only hope for the sake of my sanity that there's some form of interesting storyline this time around.

This movie and the first are like Mcdonalds. They both offer shitty, bland nothingness, and everyone knows about it.

I'd be fine with a "Part 3." I'd even be fine with a "Part 4" of "Paranormal Activity." But I think anything past 4 could possibly be pushing it a little. But regardless, I can't wait to see "Paranormal Activity 2."

Because its 100% suspense..Its not the Gore shit we get 99% of the time these days..These films are creepy because it borders the line "What if"..Gore isnt scary and its just gross..It creeps people out in the same manner that the "The Exorcist" did on its release and still to this day..Im sorry but I think this is much scarier than a guy setting traps to dismember people in a series of basment like rooms..Its all the matter of opinion anyway..Some people dig it some dont, who the hell cares anyway..You either like or you dont..I dont think anything released these days is scary..Most of the time its the same old thing..But these films IMO were creepy as hell..No film has creeped me out this way since i was a little boy at the age of 5 or 6 and watched "The Exorcist" for the first time..It just boils down to what people are into I guess..Box office numbers wouldnt be rising and the film wouldnt be doing so well if most everyone thought the 1st one sucked..These films obviously have a wide fan base and I will say without regret that Im in that fanbase..Anyway, just my take on things..Later guys

Caesar15, I think the later half (numerals) in your name dictate why you love the movie, and thats who its made for: those that follow blindly.

You think Paranormal Activty is scary? Why? Becaue the trailers that declared it "the best horror movie ever" told you so? Or was it the "crowd reaction" shots in the trailer?
I've yet to MEET a single person who liked the first movie. ACTUALLY liked it, not just buying into the halloween time bullshit.

A movie with zero budget and ZERO effects only works if you have a story, which these movies did NOT have a fuckin story. I cant believe people think those movies are actual movies. I've seen more convincing shit on youtube.

Fish strings, tied to doors. Seriously? Thats what keeps you up at night? Honestly?
c-grade actors struggling their lines out. Seriously? You buy into it? Once again, its because the trailers TOLD you you like it. So of course, you like it...

And most free trial FX software contains those VERY gun blasts shown in that first "movie". You call a 2 second download something scary? You honestly bought into that shit? It wasnt even roto-d in correctly. God damn people are either ignorant blind, or both.

Oh and gore, Most horror fans hate gore, and once again like Paranormal activity, most only like gore in a BIG setting, meaning at the theater or with a ton of people to glance at while watching it showing the "devil horns" proving that they're "bad ass".

Anyways, nice try on a debate.

Yeah Tyler your an asshole..Im 27 years old bud..I dont buy into shit..I know now why you have been banned from almost every site across the web..I like these movies and its as simple as that..I could give 3 shits about trailers etc..Do you really think thats is the only reason why people like a certain film..Are you that Nieve..If you properly read my post I only stated my opinion on why myself along with the guys here at Horrorbid and many others may like these movies..No matter what you, myself or anyone has to say about any film its only an opinion..I could care less who likes or dislikes these movies..I actually like the fact that so many differ in opinion..It makes things interesting..If everyone thought he same way this world would be a boring place..But God forbid anyone have an opinion thats different from Tyler "HASSLE"..Because thats all you are everywhere you roam is a hassle and an internet tough guy..How you have been allowed here so long boggles the mind..Your comments do nothing but disrespect the owners of this site and basically anyone who views things different than you..I dont think these our the scariest films of all time, but I do enjoy them..My remark to gore was only refering to what most Horror films are these days and thats a fact..I dont find it scary at all..It's actually getting old to me and that is another reason why I like these films..Who the hell cares about special effects..If one thing these these films have showned(box office numbers dont lie) is that you dont need to spend thosands of dollars on special effects to have a successful film..Over 1/4 of million people demanded the to see the film first..Do you really think it was minimal footage of the 2nd film that had fans wanting to see it that bad..I would bet its because there are a ton of people out there that enjoyed the first film..I find it hard to believe that you dont know one person who didnt like the 1st one..I know dozens of people who did and dozens who didnt..Like I said before you either dig it or you dont, bottom line..Your opinion doesnt mean its the right one by any means because once again its only your opinion if you have any idea as to what that means anyway..Nothing keeps me up at night buddy..Not a damn thing..Bad acting, thats only your opinion and nothing more(Yet one more time)..Your post only shows your ignorance..No where in my post did I come off like you just did...Who is the kid here pal, really..Do you buy into yourself that much..Cmon, get a life..Your reputation for a dickhead most certainly percieves itself and I can see why..Im not gonna sit here and justify my age, or why I like anything to an ignorant little boy like yourself..I dont talk shit through a keypad to try and feel big..So come back with some smart ass remark all you want because I dont care..You need to learn to read because I wasnt debating shit, but rather stating my opinion

So everyone here at Horrorbid look how Tyler "Hassle" has yet again come off like the little ignorant child he truly is..This guy does nothing but constantly disrespect those who differ in opinion..I guess he is our lord and savior in the horror world and what he say's must go or must be right..Go idoloize yourself some more in your lonely bedroom mirror buddy..Im done with you wee one

I didn't like the first movie and had no interest in seeing the second one but I do agree with Caesar015. It's a matter of opinion, and that's the fun about getting both sides of it. It's fun to talk about why we like or don't like something.

And just for the record..IMO "The Exorcist" is the scariest film of all time..You can say I bought into that one..It scared the hell out of me when I was a child and I still think its scry as hell to this day..Its been 20+ years and I havent seen a movie that I belive is scarier..Not sure if I ever will either..But thats just my personal opinion..
And thank you kindly to Jon and consoler3..I wasnt debating anything but mearly stating why I personally enjoyed these films..My opinion and like Jon just said, its part of the fun discussing why everyone likes or dislikes a certain topic or film..It is uncalled for to go out of your way to be an outright dick just on the grounds of someone having a different opinion..So thanks to all who can talk like adults and have a respectful conversation without converting to a dick head state for having different opinions..
So as always, Later guys..

The sexy thong bikinis can be easily purchased both at online and offline stores. They are available in variety of designs, colors and styles. One can choose among variety of fabrics and colors available.

Bikinis are two-piece swimsuits. They're usually everyone's favorite swimsuit style, whether they're wearing them or not. Like one pieces, bikinis come in various styles but are ultimately much easier to customize.

In my opinion the first movie had a new and interesting concept, and it scared me a little when I watched it for the first time. The second, on the other hand, was just more of the same and it didn't scare me at all, I think that I just already knew what to expect, it was very slow and just boring sometimes because nothing happened. Anyway I respect all the opinions of the people that loved and hated this movie (I'm in between).
To me they could have stopped on the first movie, but this franchise is better than a gold mine, the movies cost nothing to make and are extremely successful in the box office.
Who among you would not keep doing new PA movies if owned the franchise? It would be a stupid waste of money and we can not blame the producers if they do 20 more movies, until they stop making money. So I think that, whether you like it or not, a lot of new PA movies are going to be released.
