New School Effects or Old School Horror? Fans Speak!
Its that time of the year again for blood, gore and chainsaws – and with the invention of “made in 3D movies” this Halloween the array of cringe-worthy, stomach rolling movie options can only get better! However, this year, the Halloween box office will battle between two opposite types of horror films as the leading contenders...

One film which uses the ultimate in 3-D technology, intricate movie plots and dazzling special effects; while the other, whose prequel was touted for using only a home video camera and a mere $11,000 was ranked as the scariest movie of last year. It’s going to be an interesting battle in debuts for title of “King of the Halloween Box Office” and perhaps in comment about whether classic or hi-tech movies are ultimately the best.
To answer this question, movie fans of the Predicto Mobile community – the largest paid mobile subscriber community boasting over 2 million active paid users weighed in on the subject. According to the poll, a slight majority of 52% of the fans believed that new Hollywood technology and Saw 3-D will prevail as the Halloween Box Office King while only 48% believed that Paranormal Activity 2 and classic Hollywood horror would come out ahead.

Interesting results but will this hold up? We are skeptical but it's always fun to ponder new CGI vs. old school effects. Old school wins 99% of the time in our book but CGI can be used effectively when done right. It's that fine line that studios seem to have the most trouble tiptoeing.
