A Horror Film Based on Michael Jackson's THRILLER Coming Soon?
You can't be a hardcore horror fan and not be at least somewhat biased towards Michael Jackson's THRILLER. It was directed by John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), featured insanely sick looking zombie effects, had a Vincent Price voiceover and single handedly put music videos and the world of horror in the mainstream...

Regardless of your thoughts about the performer personally there is absolutely no denying the influence the pop star had on our culture. And in death much as in life it still goes on. The "most successful music video" of all time is on its way to becoming a major motion picture.
According to our friends at Deadline, "GK Films is in active negotiations to acquire a package for a film that is being fashioned around his groundbreaking hit song Thriller. The film, which has been quietly shopped over the past several weeks by Real Effects Entertainment, has Kenny Ortega attached to direct, and The Hangover scribe Jeremy Garelick to write the screenplay. While GK is in the driver's seat, I'm told that Fox 2000, Mandate/Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are all in the mix on what will shape up as a pricey rights deal, but which will turn out to be a film budgeted at under $50 million."
No plot details are available at this point and though details are sketchy the bidding for this appears to be hot and heavy. This is a curious project to watch and we are skeptically awaiting to see if this will all pan out for the best. One thing we know for certain at this point is regardless as to who gets the rights to the film, it will have a banging soundtrack! That much we do know! Stay tuned as more on this develops.
