Robert Rodriquez Says MACHETE 2 Script is in the Bag

Our friends across the pond at HorrorAsylum have just reported that Robert Rodriguez has finished penning the script for MACHETE 2 and according to star Danny Trejo they are "ready to roll". MACHETE just hit theaters in England last Friday and the buzz is as strong as it was stateside...


Follow up:


According to Trejo, "I asked (Robert Rodriguez) when he was going to write it and he says it's written, so we can get started pretty quick”. No solid production date has been given but it's no secret that both Rodriguez and Trejo feel as if at least a few more MACHETE sequels will work. We have a full fledge budding franchise here. One that was birthed from a fake trailer from the infamous GRINDHOUSE film. How great of a story is that?

As always stay tuned for more information as we get it. Until then feast on the MACHETE trailer below and if you haven't seen the film, what are you waiting for? Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and a slightly stoned Lindsay Lohan? That should be enough right there.

I like Danny Trejo alot, i wish he lasted longer in prtedators more than he did. its about time he is getting more acting jobs in! i think he is underated. just expected more out of Machete. hopefully the next will be better!
