We were able to give HELLRAISER fans an update earlier today on the much talked about remake by director Patrick Lussier due to a recent interview he had with our friends at Moviefone. The news doesn't stop there as we have also learned some information regarding HALLOWEEN 3D, which was written by Lussier and fellow writing cohort Todd Farmer...

Fans will remember that immediately following Rob Zombie's terrific (insert a little sarcasm) HALLOWEEN sequel H2 that The Weinstein Company announced plans to go in a different direction brining aboard director Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer to create HALLOWEEN 3D. A script was turned in. The studio loved it, producer Malek Akkad loved it and all seemed ready for another foray into the land of Michael Myers. Somewhere however the train derailed and all talks immediately ceased.

When asked exactly what happened, Lussier had this to say: "You'd really have to ask Dimension Films and Bob Weinstein," he tells Moviefone. "We were very excited about the script we wrote. Malek Akkad was very excited about the script we wrote. We loved Malek and we'd love to make the movie with him, but that's up to the grown-ups who are above our pay grade, so who knows. I am frequently surprised by whatever happens next."

Fans of the Boogeyman are either very much on board about seeing Mike terrorizing Haddonfield once again or dead set against it. One thing we have learned over the years is to never count the big man out. He has a way of coming back over and over again, we mean that in a multitude of ways. So we expect this project to happen one day the million dollar question is when and will Lussier and Famer be involved. Time will tell.
