NECA Listened to the Bidite Nation! Alternate SCREAM 4 "Ghostface" Figure Coming Soon!

This is why we are big fans of NECA and why we love announcing their new pieces when they make them available to us. Many of you will remember a few weeks ago when we debuted the new SCREAM 4 "Ghostface" 7 inch figure the toy company planned on releasing in conjunction with the film. Fans had an issue with the sculpted hard plastic look mixed with the soft fabric material that the figure employed. You all voiced your concerns and this is NECA's response...

Follow up:

Randy Falk, Director of NECA Product Development spoke with the Examiner and this to say to the fans:

"Not much has changed from the prototype to the “initial” release. We made a decision early on to mix soft goods with sculpted so that the robe on the legs would be fabric which would allow the legs to be moved and posed as the consumer chooses. Using a sculpted skirt does not permit this. We experimented with some fabrics last year on a figure from the video game Dante’s Inferno and we were really happy with the results so we were looking for a good opportunity to use them again. Aside from the legs the long angled fabric that hangs from forearms if sculpted can only really make sense with one pose/look so we wanted to have that flowing fabric look there.

It has been a challenge getting the factory production to match the soft goods we tailored and sewed here but overall we are satisfied with the results.

We have heard from some of the fan community that they are not happy with the mixed mediums and the use of soft goods which is disappointing but in an effort to please everyone we are going to make a running change in the production and switch to a sculpted skirt. That way both versions are on the market and those who don’t mind the fabric and want to pose the legs more can buy the initial soft goods version and those who prefer the fully sculpted all plastic figure can wait and purchase that version. We listen and value the fan’s opinions and want to try to satisfy everyone. So here is an exclusive behind the scenes look at how the lower part of the figure will be revised. We are keeping the fabric on the sleeves as I really don’t like how this looks sculpted and again we want people to pose and articulate the arms and have the fabric move with it in a way that makes logical sense, like how fabric or a long sleeve like that would really move in real life."

Below are the test sculpted hard plastic look of that the new "V2" figure will utilize.

And pictured below is the fabric and hard plastic original version. Look for these both in stores this March.

Of course not Billy. But we certainty had a lot of members voice problems with the figure. NECA listens to their fans and many of them, we are proud to say are Bidites. :)

Hope that helps to let you know where we were coming from. Have a great week.

I think they should have made the clothing underneath plastic and have the fabric draped over them like a costume. That way it would be like a costume and it would get the best of both worlds.

THANK YOU NECA. And whats cheaper, a swatch of fabric or a swatch of plastic? That was why their was fabric in the first place..., damn liars, hahha.

I am very glad they hurry and switched, sure they did it because the other WILL NOT sell, but they did it because they LISTEN. If they didnt LISTEN, they would've been fucked in the long run, not us. No one would've bought one of those before. Now I can see them selling out. I know I'll get at least 2. The upright pose Makes ALL THE WORLD. Not some slouched over weird pose like their Jigsaw figure or McFarlances original SCream fig.

Buy these figs up, so that way they have motivation to contact Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard for a boxsed set we ALL want! The ending! Similar to their Halloween boxset!

I don't see what the problem is with the original figure. Obviously it's based off of a scene in the movie that is very cold, so Ghostface put's on a leather jacket over his robe.

Obviously
