Brad Fuller Talks MONSTER SQUAD Remake - A New Franchise Being Born?
Brad Fuller has become somewhat of a "Twitter Whisperer" as of late. He gave us the current status of ELM STREET and FRIDAY THE 13TH series, which seem to be going nowhere any time soon, and now he informs us of another remake that is in the process being made, THE MONSTER SQUAD...
Follow up:
The 1987 original saw a group of monster movie fanatic, young boys, as they are tasked with saving the world from Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, the Creature, and the Mummy. Via his twitter (not tweet as we posted in the previous related news piece) Brad Fuller, producer over at Plantinum Dunes, says “Since a few people asked, monster squad is being written and he hope to have a script in the next few weeks.”
Mark and Brian Gunn have the writing duties for the film that also sees Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious, xXx) directing. The up side of this is that we know is the remake does well, Paramount is looking at creating a franchise out of this.

But this did not stand the test of time AT ALL (though the creature designs are still phenomenal)!!
I tried to watch this film again just a few years ago (while I was still in my late 20's) and the script & dialog was just SO fucking painfully corny! ..I shrugged in embarrassment so many times for how bad it was, I nearly couldn't make it through the whole film without just shutting it off.
