New Re-Imagining of Bram Stoker's DRACULA Titled HARKER

As you may remember, we reported a new Dracula based film just a few days ago. Speculations flew on the topic of story line. Well, a ray of sunshine has emerged and shed some light on the upcoming movie like a crack in Jerry Dandridge’s basement window!...

Follow up:

The new film will be entitled HARKER, as collider.com reports, and is being picked up by Warner Brothers. WB will be working alongside DiCaprio’s Appian Way label and Mad Hatter Entertainment. The writing team of Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy will be putting the story together.

HARKER will follow Scotland Yard Detective Jonathan Harker on his wild pursuit of the old Grandpappy of all vampires himself, Dracula. It’s being labeled as a reinterpretation, but don’t let that scare you. Sherlock Holmes was initially panned in the same matter and I think most of us can agree that that came out alright! Regardless of how you feel about director Jaume Collet-Serra’s previous efforts (THE ORPHAN and HOUSE OF WAX), his upcoming release starring Liam Neeson (UNKNOWN) should give us a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Let’s cross our fingers and hope for the best Bidite Nation and we’ll keep you posted as more information emerges!

I'm cautiously optimistic here. I hope it's great. We'll see.

If they keep Keanu out of it, it might be my favorite new movie. Again, cautiously optimistic.

Turning Harker into a Scotland Yard detective is an insipid idea. Hope this one winds up in development hell and never gets out! For the life of me, I cannot understand why Hollywood has such a difficult time adapting Stoker's novel. The story is there, and would be easy to turn into an engaging film, but they always have to much it up with crap like Mina having a romance or Harker being a vampire hunting cop.
